He likes his martinis shaken, not stirred: Later this month, rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z will reportedly host a 007-themed blackjack tournament. Proceeds for the tournament will benefit Jay’s REFORM Alliance, a non-profit organization committed to probation, parole, and sentencing reform in the US by way of legislation and political lobbying.

The news was first reported by Page Six, who said that the event will take place on September 30 at Atlantic City’s Oceans Casino Resort. The event will reportedly boast a $1 million pot and entrants will have to pay a $100,000 buy-in fee to participate.

According to the publication, several A-Listers are expected to be in attendance, including Travis Scott, Megan Thee Stallion, Kim Kardashian, DJ Khaled, James Harden, and Emily Ratajkowski.

“It was Jay’s idea to make a really small, incredibly exclusive event with the best people in the world,” said a source to the publication. “You can’t buy your way into this party.”

Kevin Hart will reportedly emcee the event and the REFORM Alliance Board is set to host.

Jay reportedly hopes to raise $20 million for REFORM, after having raised $20 million with his Shawn Carter Foundation Gala in July.

Jay is also the subject of The Book Of Hov, an exhibition showcasing Jay’s various feats in hip-hop and telling an immersive story of his New York upbringing. The exhibition is running in the Brooklyn Library until October.

This morning (September 6), Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner released a joint statement on social media to officially announce their divorce. The news came after days of rumors of the split. For those who are unfamiliar with the previouslyvprivate couple, here’s what to know about their relationship timeline.

After following each other on Instagram, the two started speaking in 2016 and eventually decided to meet. “I thought, ‘He’s gonna be such a d*ck,’” Turner previously told Elle.

“We talked for hours, and hours, and hours,” she added. “And I was, like, not bored. It wasn’t contrived. It wasn’t small talk — it was just so easy. And soon we were, like, inseparable. I went on tour with him.”

Turner would go on to appear in the Jonas Brothers music video for “Sucker” in February 2019, alongside the wives of Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas.

In May of 2019, the two got married first in Las Vegas, complete with an Elvis impersonator and Ring Pops as rings. Still, they also opted for a standard wedding, too, hosting another in June in the south of France. Turner was 23 and Jonas was 30.

A year later, she had their first child, a daughter named Willa. They also had a second daughter in July 2022 but have kept her name out of the public eye.

In August, Elon Musk declared of X (formerly Twitter), “Block is going to be deleted as a ‘feature’, except for DMs,” adding, “It makes no sense.” That has left X/Twitter icon Dionne Warwick scratching her head, and she’s like to have a chat with Musk about what’s going on.

When asked by People about Musk’s desire to remove the ability to block X/Twitter users, Warwick responded, “I have yet to speak to that young man and I intend to because I am not quite sure what he’s doing or if he knows what he’s doing. So until that happens, I’ll reserve my answer to that question.”

Warwick also spoke about a potential chat with Musk back in December, saying, “I have to meet him. I know a lot of people have walked away from Twitter. That’s prior to knowing exactly what he’s going to do. He’s new to the game. His attitude is freedom of speech, which is mine as well. However, there’s a way to do it. That’s one of the conversations I’m going to have with him. What is your true intent? I understand your freedom of speech attitude but how are you going to contain it, so it does not get out of hand?”

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have released a joint statement, a day after the Jonas Brothers member filed for divorce from the Game of Thrones actress citing that their marriage of four years is “irretrievably broken.”

“After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” it reads. “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

A petition for dissolution of marriage [was] filed by Joe Jonas on Tuesday, Sept. 5, in Miami Dade County, Florida. The petition states that “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.” The petition also reads that the children have been residing with Jonas in Miami and other locations throughout the country, but that “it is in the best interests of the minor children that the parties have shared parental responsibility.” It also indicates that the couple had a prenuptial agreement.

Turner and Jonas first connected after he slid into her DMs. “We had a lot of mutual friends,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in 2019, “and they’d been trying to introduce us for a long time. We were following each other on Instagram and he direct-messaged me one fine day, out of the blue.”

Perhaps the biggest takeaway from Drake and 21 Savage’s It’s All A Blur tour hasn’t been the music, the production, or anything performance-related like that, but the bras. A lot of brassieres have been thrown Drake’s way during the trek, and now he’s rounded them all up for a fun photo.

In the photo shared earlier today (September 6), Drake smiles with his arm spread wide. Behind him is a grid of bras, presumably all the ones that have been thrown at him on tour. Doing some quick math based on what can be seen in the photo, it appears Drake is posing with at least 600 bras.

Drake captioned the post, “Remember when we both forgot who the f*ck I was in unison…that wavelength was def a foolish one.”

On his Instagram Story, Drake also shared a video of a couple of workers unloading all the bras from the bin onto the floor, in preparation for the photo.

Some of the bras Drake has received have left him notably impressed. After seeing one, he exclaimed, “36G?! Locate this woman immediately.” In response to another bra, he said, “This is your mother’s bra that you brought to the show? Where is your mama at? You gotta send her my love. And by the way, you gotta send her my love, and you gotta tell her to get Instagram ASAP.”

Maybe all of those kids’ movies that feature personified animals getting into very human-like mischief when their owners are away are based on true events. Sure, people have put GoPros on their pets and haven’t captured any wild parties and secret conversations in a discernible language coming from their four-legged pet, but what if dogs understand more than we think and enjoy very human pleasures? Maybe some part of them is tuned into things they like that aren’t expected from human’s best friend.

A German Shepherd named Storm has certainly proven she’s been paying close attention to what humans do. In fact, she even joined the audience of a concert without her owners knowing.

In Inglewood, California, Storm decided to take her furry self on a date since clearly, her owners missed the memo on Metallica being in town. She heard the band start playing and decided to sneak away to get a better listen.

Apparently, dogs don’t need tickets or wristbands because Storm made her way into SoFi Stadium and took a seat to watch the show. People thought the poor dog was abandoned, but Metallica posted an update on their social media page explaining that Storm is just a big fan. The dog lives near the stadium and snuck out of her yard before making it to the concert.

“After a full night of taking in the show with her #MetallicaFamily, Storm was safely reunited with her actual family the next day. She had a great time listening to her favorite songs, including ‘Barx Æterna,’ ‘Master of Puppies,’ and ‘The Mailman That Never Comes,'” Metallica wrote.

The band also reminded people that they shouldn’t bring their dogs to a Metallica concert in case anyone got any ideas after seeing Storm jamming out.

While Metallica is probably right in not bringing your dog to a heavy metal concert, it doesn’t mean you can’t make sure they appreciate your kind of music. Tell Alexa to turn the volume up to 10 and blast your favorite tunes while your dog watches you rock out on your air guitar in your living room. They’ve got to learn good music somehow. How else will they know what to play when they have their secret get togethers with the other neighborhood dogs?

In 2012, Hot Boys rapper B.G. was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for gun possession and witness tampering. In the last few days, there have been reports that the hip-hop artist has been released. It was confirmed by HipHopDX and now videos are circulating of him out and about.

One viral clip is an Instagram Live from Birdman, who falsely claimed last year that B.G. would be out “in a few weeks” in an old Instagram Live. However, now there’s visual evidence.

Last month, however, Boosie Badazz shared that B.G. would be getting out soon. “I’m talking to him every day now,” Boosie said, according to HipHopDX. “I got the email now. I got the email set up on my phone so I can email him. “[He doesn’t have] an actual release date, but he should be home in like three, four months. They already went to the [halfway] house and checked the house where he’s coming to.”

He continued, “He got a few b*tches he want. He got a few celebrity crushes he want me to slide in their DM and tell ’em. I’m like, ‘Bruh, you gon’ have me in all kinda shi*!’ ‘I want her, tell that bitch she for me.’ Bruh, this n**** here.”

Veteran swingman Danny Green has agreed to a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

After tearing his ACL in May of 2022, Green made his 2022-23 debut in February for the Memphis Grizzlies before being dealt to the Houston Rockets and agreeing to a buyout, at which point he signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Yet Green only played sparingly, seeing the court in 11 regular season games (138 minutes) and four playoff contests (40 minutes). He averaged 5.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 43.2 percent from deep (16-for-37).

Because he played so little last year, it’s hard to know where Green is at in this point of his career physically and as an overall player. During 2021-22, before tearing his ACL, he remained an effective rotation player for the Sixers, though had lost a good deal of his lateral mobility, which hurt him significantly as a point-of-attack stopper. That season, he started 28 games, averaged 5.9 points and shot 38 percent beyond the arc.

Now more than a full calendar year removed his ACL injury and not trying to jockey for minutes on the fly with multiple playoff contenders, he could re-emerge as a viable rotation wing, floor-spacer and impactful defensive cog. Philadelphia will certainly hope that comes to fruition in his second stint with the organization as it searches to bolster its forward depth.

Foo Fighters have been playing tons of festivals this year. The band, who just released their 11th album, But Here We Are, have been on the roster for Outside Lands, Fuji Rock Festival, iHeartRadio Music Festival, and more.

The “Everlong” group just played Jazz Aspen Snowmass, which took place over Labor Day weekend, also featuring acts like The Lumineers, James Bay, Brothers Osborne, Old Dominion, and Grace Potter. They headlined on Sunday night, and their set featured an unexpected song: a cover of “Pretty Vacant” by Sex Pistols, performed alongside the one and only Billy Idol. It made for a satisfyingly punk experience to a hyped crowd.

Upon unveiling But Here We Are in June, the band shared a thoughtful statement on social media. “A most heartfelt & profound ‘thank you,’” they tweeted, “To Greg Kurstin, Julian Burg, Darrell Thorp, Spike Stent, John Lousteau, Oliver Roman, & Alastair Christie for helping the band walk back into the studio again, lock the door behind us, and make the most important album of our lives.”

They continued, “We certainly couldn’t have done it without you. Our love and gratitude goes beyond words. The memories and songs will last forever.”

On Tuesday, over two-and-a-half years after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, a federal judge doled out the stiffest sentence yet for one of its perpetrators. Enrique Tarrio — former leader of the Proud Boys, the far right neo-fascist group that named after a line in Disney’s Aladdin — was handed a whopping 22 years. (That’s 11 years fewer than prosecutors had asked for.) Other Jan. 6 planners haven’t gotten off lightly either. In fact, some of the sentences awarded people who tried to overturn democracy are so long that it’s left Sarah Palin feeling a little blue.

As per Mediaite, the former Alaska governor and failed vice presidential candidate went on Newsmax, where host Eric Bolling lamented the extensive jailtime given to folks like Philly Proud Boys leader Zachary Rehl (15 years), InfoWars’ Joe Biggs (17), and Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes (18). Bolling asked Palin what she has to say “to all these lefties,” presumably meaning the judges.

“It’s so disheartening, the examples that you’ve given, Eric,” Palin responded. “It makes the populace lose a lot of faith in our government, and that’s an understatement. Unfortunately, what this leads to, when we recognize the examples that you just gave, the two-tier different justice systems that apply according to politics, you know it makes the good guy think what’s the use in being a good guy. We’re gonna be punished, you know, we’re picked on, is what we are under this system. But we can’t feel helpless and hopeless.”

Palin sure has a strange definition of being a “good guy.” But she does have a point: Doling out harsh sentences to people who helped lead a failed coup that led to multiple deaths is a good way to discourage others from attempting the same.

Elsewhere in her Newsmax appearance, Palin offered some of her patented word salad about alleged “dismantling of our traditional justice system” and how both “Lady Liberty and Lady Justice used to be blind.” Or something!

Palin also tried to claim Jan. 6 wasn’t an insurrection but just some “people who wanted to get into the Capitol and exercise their right to protest,” while mourning the “hijacking of the language of the verbiage used” when describing that fateful day.

Palin doesn’t make too many public appearances these days, and when she does it’s either to lose a primary in the state she once led or to go to restaurants while teeming with COVID. Because putting people at risk of a deadly and highly transmissible disease is something the “good guys” do.
