Monaleo Will Display Her ‘Resilience’ And ‘Strength’ On Her Debut Album, ‘Where The Flowers Don’t Die’

Monaleo quickly rose through the ranks in the rap scene thanks to the success of her single, “Beating Down Yo Block.” The Houston-based musician maintained her rising star status with follow-up songs like “We Not Humping.” Quickly after, the musician hit the road with fellow southern entertainer Flo Milli for her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Tour.

Now, Monaleo is ready to deliver her debut album, Where The Flowers Don’t Die, to fans. Slated to drop on May 26, the project will feature tracks “Ridgemont Baby,” “Ass Kickin,” and “Beating Down Your Block.” Although the recording artist is on strict physical restrictions as Monaleo is ready to give birth to her first child with her partner and fellow rapper Stunna 4 Vegas, that didn’t stop her from penning a touching message about the album on social media.

Uploading the record’s official album cover, Monaleo captioned the post, “My first ever body of work. Wow. I worked tirelessly to put this project together before my due date. This project is the embodiment of resilience, tenacity, and strength. I fought through physical challenges, hormone imbalances, and prenatal depression for the sake of producing good art. I’m so proud of myself for preserving and seeing this through to the end.”

The musician continued, “I’m currently on bed rest, but I can’t wait to see y’all. The most important goal for me with this project right now is for it to reach who it needs to and touch the listeners the way it touched me, curating it. Open your ears and your hearts and prepare for a roller coaster of emotions.”

Closing the post, Monaleo wrote, “This is real and raw. Thank y’all for the continued support. Thank you to my entire team, family, and friends for being with me every step of the way. I hope y’all enjoy .”

Jaylen Brown And Georges Niang Got Technical Fouls After Niang Grabbed Brown’s Leg From The Sixers’ Bench

Tensions were high during Game 7 of Eastern Conference Semifinal between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers. With the stakes as high as we’ve seen in a game this season, it seemed like only a matter of time until someone was going to be assessed a technical foul. And with just under seven minutes left in the second quarter as the Celtics were in the midst of a run to cut into a Sixer lead, the first techs of the game were handed out.

Jaylen Brown chased down a rebound off of a miss by Tobias Harris, which led to Brown running into some players on Philadelphia’s bench. While Brown was trying to get out of there and run to the other end of the floor, Philly forward Georges Niang reached out and grabbed his leg, preventing him from getting back on defense. Brown didn’t appreciate this, so he started to chirp with Philadelphia’s bench while his teammates were on offense.

Robert Williams ran right over to try and get Brown out of there, which eventually happened. Brown was assessed a technical right away, while the referees needed to go to the monitor to see that Niang grabbed hold of his leg, which earned him a technical foul as well.

Jon Stewart Torched CNN For Its Disastrous Trump Town Hall, Saying It Taught People ‘Nothing’ New About The MAGA Crowd

Last week, after months of declining ratings, CNN threw a hail Mary: They had Donald Trump participate in a town hall. It did not go well. Not only did the former president do what he always does: lie, early and often, despite moderator Kaitlan Collins’ spluttering attempts to call out his un-truths. It also subtracted credibility from an already struggling news network. Among the event’s many critics are Jon Stewart, who shot down claims that by giving a platform to a known liar, CNN was simply trying to educate the populace.

“Dear TV,” Stewart tweeted a few days after the town hall. “The problem w the Trump Town Hall wasn’t platforming … or a fragile siloed audience unable to be exposed to newsworthy opinions antithetical to their own … the problem was an event that was clearly negotiated to Trump’s approval. An ode to access.”

Stewart mocked CNN brass’ attempts to kiss the boot of the MAGA crowd, who will never like them anyway and who are even drifting away from Fox News to the even more deranged likes of Newsmax and OANN. He also argued that the event failed at the very thing Licht and company are supposed to do: inform the populace.

“I learned nothing from this town hall about Trump and his most ardent supporters I haven’t known since 2016,” Stewart wrote. “I learned a lot about CNN.”

The town hall featured Trump making one tall or misleading claim after another. At one point he addressed the biggest elephant in the room: that the day before he’d been found guilty of defamation and sexual misconduct. Trump cracked jokes about the woman who sued him, E. Jean Carroll, prompting laughs from the Republican- and Independent-stacked crowd.

In the aftermath, Anderson Cooper tried to spin it as exposing viewers to worldviews outside of their bubbles. That didn’t go well either.

Ja Morant Reportedly Could Receive ‘A Lengthy Suspension’ After His Latest Gun Video

A video popped up on social media on Sunday morning showing Ja Morant waving around a gun while sitting in a car with some friends. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, there is a “very real possibility of a lengthy suspension to start next season” as a result of the video.

Prior to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics, Wojnarowski went onto ESPN and laid out the current situation involving Morant, who was suspended for eight games earlier this year due to a similar incident in Colorado where he pulled out a gun in a nightclub.

“The league suspended him for eight games — really two of them, retroactive to really just two games earlier this season,” Wojnarowski said. “I sense already today that Adam Silver’s going to feel increasing pressure from other teams in the league who see this, as much as it impacts the Grizzlies, that it impacts them and their ability to market their players and their teams.”

Wojnarowski went on to say that the sense was Silver “showed some restraint” only suspending Morant for eight games, in part because he “took him at his word that he would make better decisions” during a face-to-face meeting between the two. Additionally, the league wants to make sure this video is legitimate.

“But I think there is a real, real possibility, if that’s what it appeared to be, a weapon in Ja Morant’s hand, he, again, is gonna likely face a significant suspension to start next season,” Wojnarowski said.

Morant’s suspension earlier this year came after he stepped away from the team. He missed six games prior to the league announcing that his suspension would last eight games, which included the ones he previously missed. The Grizzlies already announced in the aftermath of Sunday’s incident that Morant would be suspended from all team activities for the time being.

Rihanna Beats Out Eminem To Become The Artist With The Second-Most Certified Singles, According To The RIAA

One of Rihanna’s ever-so-vigilant Navy fan pages asserted that the Grammy Award-winning musician “surpassed Eminem and is now the second artist with the most certified singles in the United States.” According to the Recording Industry Association of America’s (RIAA) website, this is, in fact, true.

With 166.5 million certified units credited to her name, the musician beats out Eminem by a small margin, namely a mere 500,000 units. High atop the chart is Drake, with 184 million certified units. Rounding out the top 5 artists are Kanye West at No. 4 with 142.5 million certified units and Taylor Swift at No. 5 with 137.5 units.

The remaining artists in the top 10 include Post Malone at No. 6 (134 million certified units), Justin Bieber at No. 7 (116 million certified units), Beyonce at No. 8 (114.5 million certified units), the Weeknd at No. 9 (111 million certified units), and Katy Perry at No. 10 (109.5 million certified units).

RIAA’s database lays out Rihanna’s highest awards singles as “We Found Love” feat. Calvin Harris is at diamond status. Her singles “Needed Me,” “Work,” and “Stay” are all nine times platinum. “Umbrella” is listed as eight times platinum. Meanwhile “This Is What You Came” with Calvin Harris, “Diamonds,” “Disturbia,” and “Only Girl (In The World)” are all listed at 7 times platinum.

Doc Rivers On Game 6 Of Sixers-Celtics, Which Philly Lost: ‘Analytically We Won The Game By 20 Or Whatever’

The Philadelphia 76ers had a golden opportunity to punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals earlier this week. With a 3-2 lead in their series against the Boston Celtics, Philly had the chance to land a knockout blow at home in front of their raucous fans. Instead, they fell down by double-digits in the first half before rallying and leading with less than five minutes to go in the game.

And then, their offense stalled out, Jayson Tatum came to life, and Boston was able to force a Game 7 in their own building with a 95-86 win. The game was there for Philly to take, but a number of missed shots that you’d normally expect the Sixers to make just did not go in.

Fast forward to Doc Rivers’ pregame press conference ahead of Sunday afternoon and this came up, with Rivers getting asked about Tatum’s incredibly cold beginning to the night where he kept missing good looks. He explained that the team needs to keep mixing up the defense that is played on him, and then said that depending on the metrics you use, Philadelphia should have won the game.

“They had some good shots last game, as well,” Rivers said. “We missed more open shots — analytically, we won the game by 20 or whatever, which, no comment. Having said that, we can’t bank that they’re gonna miss the shots that they had. They had some good shots.”

The argument, basically, is that if Philadelphia simply shot what it normally does on the looks that it generated, it would have won the game comfortably. It is a way to argue for your process, even if your results don’t necessarily work out, which makes sense from the perspective of a coach whose team missed a bunch of open looks in a basketball game they lost. Having said that, you’d be hard-pressed to find too many Sixers fans who thought the result was acceptable because of this, and our hunch is they’re willing to lose Game 7 analytically by 20 points if the scoreboard indicates they scored more points than the Celtics.

Trump’s Rage-Filled Mother’s Day Post Mentioned Everyone He Hates But Not Melania, The Mother Of His Youngest Son

How are you spending Mother’s Day? Maybe you’re calling your mom. Maybe you’re taking her out to dinner or getting her a nice gift. Maybe you’re doting on your wife, the mother of your child(ren). If you’re a certain nonsense-spewing former president, though, you’re of course ringing in the holiday with a rage-filled social media post about your many, many enemies.

“Happy Mother’s Day to ALL, in particular the Mothers, Wives and Lovers of the Radical Left Fascists, Marxists, and Communists who are doing everything within their power to destroy and obliterate our once great Country,” Trump wrote on his rinky-dink Twitter clone. He concluded with a message of hope, sort of. “Please make these complete Lunatics and Maniacs Kinder, Gentler, Softer and, most importantly, Smarter, so that we can, quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

In other words, Trump singled out everyone he hates for a Mother’s Day greeting — but not Melania, his wife, the mother of his youngest son, Barron. Of course, you could argue that she falls under the “ALL” banner, but that’s not exactly much of an honor.

And so once again the former FLOTUS receives a frosty reception from her spouse, who last month wasn’t so sure he was going to be there for a her birthday. Then again, maybe the less time being doted on by the husband she probably doesn’t want back in the White House, the better.

Nicki Minaj’s ‘Red Ruby Da Sleeze’ Video Is Sexy, Self-Assured, And Simple Introduction Of The Rapper’s New Alter Ego

The video for Nicki Minaj‘s new single “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” dropped on Mother’s Day eve. Filmed on her homeland of Trinidad and Tobago, it finds Minaj flexing comfortably as her confidence in her bars and beauty shines through. Sporting nearly half a dozen designer looks while relaxing between 2023 Carnival festivities, the musician takes in the tranquility offered by the country’s oceanside as her brash lyrics create an enticing juxtapose energy.

Minaj has proven that she can effortlessly dapple in pop music — see her latest feature with Kim Petras — but her roots are firmly planted in slick-talking rap tracks.

“Who the f*ck told bitches they was me now / I knew these b*tches was slow / I ain’t know these b*tches senile / Married a shooter case you N***** tried to breathe loud / Boom your face off then I tell him cease-fire/I’m the A, B side,” raps Minaj.

But that isn’t the only standout lines that caught fans’ ears. The lines “700 on them horses when we fixing to leave / But I’on fuck with horses since Christopher Reeves” and “Dorito b*tches / Mad that they nachos (not chose),” sparked rumors that she and another emcee is involved in a silent feud.

Co-produced by Go Grizzly and Cheeze Beatz, the track ushered in Minaj’s fierce new music persona. The song was initially released on March 3, with a teaser video clip dropped soon after. She even debuted the track live at Rolling Loud Los Angeles. Now the full video is finally here. You can watch it above.

Report: The Bucks Will Interview Mark Jackson For Their Head Coaching Vacancy

The Milwaukee Bucks entered the NBA’s coaching carousel when the decision was made to fire head coach Mike Budenholzer on the team’s opening round loss to the Miami Heat. It’s been 10 days since that happened, and the Bucks have opted to take their time with their search, with few details becoming public about the candidates they’re going to target for the position.

On Sunday, we learned one name Milwaukee’s front office is going to bring in for an interview. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Bucks are going to sit down with former Golden State Warriors coach and current ESPN analyst Mark Jackson about potentially becoming Budenholzer’s successor.

Jackson coached the Warriors from 2011-14, and has been with ESPN ever since. He accrued a 121-109 record with Golden State and got them to the postseason in two of the three years that he was at the helm, but his tenure was controversial due to, among other things, allegations of anti-gay rhetoric and reports that he tried to turn players against one another.

The Bucks won a league-best 58 games this season, but lost in five games to the Heat to make them the sixth 1-seed to lose to an 8 in NBA playoff history.
