Snoop Dogg let his hair grow out for the classic Doggystyle era, so when 21 Savage found himself with a similar look recently, he couldn’t help but notice the parallel with the iconic aesthetic.
A couple days ago, on April 8, 21 took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with long hair flowing free. He captioned the post, “thinking about going throwback snoop on you female dogs.”
Meanwhile, T-Pain recently declared that while his use of Auto-Tune initially faced resistance, it was Snoop who made it cool: “Oh, that’s all it was. It was only resistance, until somebody cool did it. Who did that? Who made it cool? Snoop. Snoop did it, and it was totally fine. Everybody was like, you know, ‘OK, I guess we can listen to it’ [laughs].”

After two years away, The Last of Us returns to HBO this Sunday. What’s in store? Well, for one thing, Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) must deal with the fallout from the season 1 finale, in which he told a lie about the Fireflies finding other immune people to save her life. The seven-episode season (which has a five-year time jump) also sees the introduction of Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), who everyone is going to be super normal about.
Abby was introduced in 2020’s masterful The Last of Us Part II, which is the most recent (and final?) Last of Us game released, not including the endless remasters. Does that mean season 2 will be the show’s last season?
Is The Last Of Us Ending After Season 2?
Nope! The plan all along has been to spread out the events of The Last of Us Part II over the course of multiple seasons. “The story material that we got from Part II of the game is way more than the story material that was in the first game, so part of what we had to do from the start was figure out how to tell that story across seasons,” co-creator Craig Mazin told Deadline. “When you do that, you look for natural breakpoints, and as we laid it out, this season, the national breakpoint felt like it came after seven episodes.”
In fact, HBO has already renewedThe Last of Us for season 3.
Here’s the official logline for season 2:
Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.
Besides Pascal, Ramsey, and Dever, The Last of Us also stars Gabriel Luna, Rutina Wesley, Isabela Merced, Young Mazino, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, Spencer Lord, Danny Ramirez, Jeffrey Wright, and Catherine O’Hara.
Season 2 premieres this Sunday, April 13, on Max at 9 p.m. ET.
Hailey Bieber isn’t the only one who has an issue with Billboard. The chart-tracking publication recently released a list of the 25 best female rappers of all time. Nicki Minaj is No. 1, followed by Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, Lil Kim, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Salt-N-Pepa, Roxanne Shante, Eve, and Foxy Brown.
Young Thug thinks there’s one name that was left off the list entirely.
After DJ Akademiks shared the ranking on Instagram, the “Wyclef Jean” rapper commented, “Where Mariah at tho,” adding the thinking face emoji. Young Thug is referring to R&B singer Mariah The Scientist, his girlfriend.
It was recently announced that Young Thug will be one of the headliners for Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash music festival at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois from from June 20 to 22, 2025. The lineup includes fellow headliners Future and Don Toliver with Yeat, as well as Trippie Redd, Ski Mask The Slump God, NLE Choppa, Nettspend, Che, DC The Don, Molly Santana, Sexyy Red, Lil Tecca, Destroy Lonely, SahBabii, Soulja Boy, Osamason, Chance The Rapper, Lil Yachty, Quavo, and Insane Clown Posse. Woop woop.
In short, everything is coming up Stephen King, and the world hasn’t yet experienced the It: Welcome To Derry series, so let’s talk about what to expect when Pennywise the Clown and his red balloon show up.
Cast
WBD/HBO
The most important “get” of this cast, of course, is Bill Skarsgård coming back as Pennywise, hence the “It” that invaded the series title previously known as Welcome To Derry. Originally, this return wasn’t set in stone, but as the Nosferatu star clarified to Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast (via CBR), he changed course due to Andy and Barbara Muschietti being in charge:
“I felt like I was done with it, in a way. It was also because … I was doing Orlok, and, to me, it felt like, ‘This is the nail in the coffin of my monster roles.’ Pun intended … So I did feel I was kind of over it and wanted to do different things. The Pennywise thing as well, I’ve been quite defined by it. Like, that’s 26-year-old me, I’m not still a young man .. [but the Muschetti’s are] very close friends. Family, even. I’m the godfather of his son. I love them. So, alright, let’s bring him back.”
Horowitz further asked of this series, “Is It as scary as the films, do you go as far? Can you go as far as he did in the films?” And Skarsgård responded, “Oh, it’s …. [nods] yeah. It’s pretty hardcore, man.” To which Horowitz joked, “Not G-rated Pennywise?” The answer: “No, that would be a no.”
Bill further told SFX Magazine/Games Radar that he had no problem sliding back into the clown makeup. “I don’t know why, but Pennywise is very accessible for me. He’s so defined, he’s sort of dormant but very easily activated,” he added while promising, “We explored things that we haven’t explored in the movies … I hope the fans are excited.”
Thus far, HBO hasn’t revealed any updated looks at Pennywise, but this released short does tease balloons.
It: Welcome To Derry also co-stars Taylour Paige, Madeleine Stowe, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, Stephen Rider, James Remar, Alixandra Fuchs, and BJ Harrison.
Plot
WBD/HBO/Max
Constant Readers know that Derry has been the setting of more than a handful of King novels (including one I recently finished for the first time, Insomnia) and mentioned in others (including Delores Claiborne). These books make clear Derry is not merely haunted; evil is infused into the bedrock, and much of the terror can be traced to the sewer, which is where It (which most commonly takes the form of King’s demonic clown) lurks while taunting children. And of course, It spawned a miniseries starring Tim Curry and exists as a pair of movies from Andy Muschetti, who created this TV prequel series along with his sister, Barbara. Together, they will adapt parts of King’s It novel that haven’t surfaced onscreen yet.
All indications are that the series promises “heart, humor, humanity, and horror” as Pennywise makes a periodic appearance in the 1960s (keeping with his 27-year dormancy period) to begins his first onscreen tour of terror. That isn’t the first time that he hit Derry, however, and this series will also pop back to the 1930s when the Black Spot nightclub burns down in the book. That portion of the story will cover the Mike Hanlon-focused interludes within the It novel). Other interludes will fill in more demonic lore, according to the Muschettis’ revelations to EW:
“This is a book we love a lot, and we felt that there was still a lot of story to be covered. “It’s so rich with characters and events, we thought we would do justice to the book and the fans by going back into this world. Specifically, we are telling the stories of the interludes, writings by Mike Hanlon based on his investigation that includes interviews he conducts with the older people in the town. In Welcome to Derry, we touch on the usual themes that were talked about in the movie — friendship, loss, the power of unified belief — but this story focuses also on the use of fear as a weapon, which is one of the things that is also relevant to our times.”
For the moment, HBO is keeping Pennywise out of the direct line of sight with these images:

Release Date
After years of production (and strike interruptions), the original Halloween-ish 2024 release window pushed back to 2025 without further specification (yet). At least we know that nine episodes should be worth the delays.
Trailer
Surely, HBO will release a trailer soon, but at the moment, their emphasis is on Pennywise’s laughter echoing while a telltale red balloon is juxtaposed by a sinister grin from a Derry resident. Additionally, somebody declares, “This ain’t America, this is Derry” amid spliced footage of horrified characters.
Additionally, a brief glimpse of Welcome To Derry footage can be seen after the 1:00 mark in the below sizzle reel.

Each week our staff of film and television experts surveys the entertainment landscape to select the ten best new/newish shows available for you to stream at home. We put a lot of thought into our selections, and our debates on what to include and what not to include can sometimes get a little heated and feelings may get hurt, but so be it, this is an important service for you, our readers. With that said, here are our selections for this week.
15. Deli Boys (Hulu)
hulu
Hulu’s Deli Boys is a crime-comedy about a pair of pampered Pakistani-American brothers who lose everything following their father’s sudden death and are forced to reckon with his secret life of misdeeds as they try to take up his mantle in the underworld. The cast includes Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, and Poorna Jagannathan.
Celebrate the streaming premiere of Wicked — the Oscar-winning movie musical starring Ariana Grande and the wickedly talented Adele Dazeem, I mean, Cynthia Erivo — by learning all about the “wicked witch of the east, bro” viral video. Or reading about Grande’s long (yellow brick) road to playing Galinda. If you’re going to defy gravity, though, do that on your time.
Colman Domingo, one of the finest actors of his generation, got a well-deserved Oscar nomination for his performance in Sing Sing. The heartbreaking but hopeful film follows Divine G (Domingo), who is imprisoned at Sing Sing Correctional Facility for a crime he didn’t commit. He finds purpose by acting in a theatre group with other incarcerated men, many of whom are played by formerly imprisoned actors.
The first thing you should know about The Studio is that there’s diarrhea zombies. The second thing to know about The Studio is that the diarrhea zombies are actually from a fake movie within the show, an industry satire starring Seth Rogen. His character, Matt, is tasked with saving Continental Studios in an ever-changing industry. The stacked cast also includes Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Rebecca Hall, Olivia Wilde, Chase Sui Wonders, Catherine O’Hara, and Bryan Cranston. The Studio is one of the funniest shows of 2025.
Willa Fitzgerald has been around for a few years (shout out to MTV’s Scream), but she got a long-overdue movie star-making role in last year’s thrilling and disturbing Strange Darling. She’s also the lead in Pulse, Netflix’s first medical drama. Created by Zoe Robyn, it’s about a third-year resident, Dr. Danny Simms (Fitzgerald), who “juggles mounting relationship tensions alongside the high stakes of working in an emergency room in Miami — including the threat of a hurricane.” It’s a nice accompaniment to The Pitt.
Shinichirō Watanabe directed one of the greatest anime series of all-time in Cowboy Bebop. His latest project (which he created) is Adult Swim’s Lazarus, a thriller about a so-called miracle drug, Hapna. However, it’s later discovered that there’s a deadly side effect: anyone who has taken Hapna will die. It’s up to a task force of agents to create a vaccine in only 30 days.
Kevin Bacon? As a murdered bounty hunter? Who’s brought back to life by the Devil? To kill demons and bring them back to Hell? Yeah, that’ll do. The Bondsman also features Jennifer Nettles (Aimee-Leigh from The Righteous Gemstones!) and Damon Herriman (Dewey Crowe from Justified!) as well as Beth Grant, Maxwell Jenkins, and Jolene Purdy.
Based on one of the best non-fiction podcasts of 2020, Dying for Sex follows Molly Kochan (played by the always-great Michelle Williams) who decides to leave her husband (Jay Duplass) after being diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer in order to explore her sexual desires for the first time. She’s joined on her journey of exploration by her best friend Nikki (Jenny Slate). The heart-tugging comedy-drama series was created by Kim Rosenstock and Elizabeth Meriwether, who also created New Girl.
The latest season (or “series,” if we’re being British about it) of Doctor Who has Ncuti Gatwa returning as the Doctor. This time around, he meets Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) and begins a quest to get her back to Earth. However, a mysterious force stops their return, and they face new dangers while learning why.
Can you believe it’s been 10 years since Mad Men ended? On a related note, I could go for a Coke right about now. Anyway, Jon Hamm’s new show, Your Friends and Neighbors, has him playing a different kind of character than Don Draper: a hedge fund manager who gets fired and begins stealing from his neighbors’ homes, “only to discover that the secrets and affairs hidden behind those wealthy facades might be more dangerous than he ever imagined.” The Your Friends and Neighbors cast also includes Olivia Munn and the always-welcome Amanda Peet.
Get a load of the cast for Black Mirror season 7: Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd, Tracee Ellis Ross, Siena Kelly, Rosy McEwen, Ben Bailey Smith, Issa Rae, Awkwafina, Emma Corrin, Harriet Walter, Peter Capaldi, Lewis Gribben, Michele Austin, Paul Giamatti (!!!), Patsy Ferran, Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, Billy Magnussen, Milanka Brooks, and Osy Ikhile, as well as Will Poulter and Asim Chaudhry returning from Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Not bad!
In the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale, June (played by Elisabeth Moss) is pulled back into the fight to take down Gilead. She’s joined by Luke (O-T Fagbenle) and Moira (Samira Wiley), while Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) attempts to reform society. It’s a story of hope, courage, and resilience in the pursuit of justice — timely! There’s also a sequel series on the horizon.
The last time we checked in with Hacks, Deborah (played by Jean Smart) succeeded in her life-long dream to become a late-night host — but not without betraying her friend and writing partner Ava (Hannah Einbinder), who holds a secret over Deborah. And she’s not afraid to use it. Season 4 finds tensions between the two rising while working on the show.
The Last of Us season 2 picks up five years after the season 1 finale, when Joel killed a bunch of Fireflies to save Ellie, and then (to put it vaguely) lied to her. Now, they’re “drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.” Get ready for more Clickers, more heartbreak, and the introduction of Abby, one of the more polarizing characters in video game history.
Coachella 2025 is coming up quickly, as the festival runs from April 11 to 13 and 18 to 20. Ultimately, not everybody who’d like to take in the performances will be able to make it out to the California desert. But, Coachella is making it easy for people all over the world to enjoy the festival.

The app allows users to see the full livestream schedule, create a personalized schedule and get notifications when chosen artists are performing, and check out performance highlights on demand. Last month, Mannequin Pussy made their late-night debut on Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney. Now it’s Scowl‘s turn.
The rad hardcore punk performed “Tonight (I’m Afraid)” from their new album, Are We All Angels, on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. It’s an interesting song choice, as it requires more singing than screaming from vocalist Kat Moss, but she and the rest of the band were up for the challenge; the breakdown beginning around the two-minute mark is one of the more exciting moments in late-night musical performances you’ll see all year.
“There’s a reason that we’re all attracted to [heavy music] and exist in it, and find ourselves relating to it so hard,” Moss told Kerrang in a recent interview. “We’re creatures who are really, really comfortable in chaos and seek conflict subconsciously, because that’s what we know. Most people I know through punk and hardcore come from some sort of damaged background or trauma. It is this beautiful thing that we all share.”
She continued, “The cool thing about art and music and subculture is that there is this really beautiful way of taking that and painting with it, and then you make this cool thing that everybody relates to in their own fucked-up way. It’s really exciting and thrilling, and it makes me want to stay alive for the experience.”
Ahead of the launch of the Grand National Tour, SZA visited Sesame Street to teach kids an important lesson about gratitude and being kind. If she can help Elmo chill out about Rocco, that would be great, too.
“What’s Miss SZA doing?” Elmo asks SZA in a clip provided ahead of Thursday’s episode. “I’m just adding this picture to my gratitude jar,” she replies. What’s a gratitude jar, you might be wondering? It’s “a place where you can put words or pictures of things you’re grateful for,” SZA explains. “Sometimes when you feel sad or have other really big feelings, it can be easy to forget the things that we’re thankful for. So the jar helps us remember.”
SZA then starts singing “Be Kind To Me, Be Kind To You,” an adorable song with lyrics like, “Be kind to me, be kind to you / Being kind is how I show my gratitude / Kindness can change the way you feel/ Gratitude’s the right attitude.” Before long, she has Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Gabrielle joining in.
Could SZA go from collaborating with Elmo to Chappell Roan? After hearing that the “Pink Pony Club” singer was interested, she wrote, “actually didn’t believe this quote when I saw it written til I saw it come out her mouth jus now CAUSE DEAD ASS SAME [crying emoji] pls we must.” Get Grover on the remix.
You can watch SZA on Sesame Street above.
