Maya Hawke Lied To Her Famous Father About Losing Her Virginity

That’s Maya Hawke lying to her famous father, that’s Maya Hawke not going to therapy, losing her virginity.

On Tuesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, the Stranger Things star revealed that she told her dad, Ethan Hawke, that she was attending a therapy session when really she was off to have sex for the first time.

“I lied. I said I was going to therapy and I really went to lose my virginity,” she shared in front of fellow guest, Bryan Cranston. “I can’t believe I just said that. My father was very upset.” Ethan gave Maya a “really hard time” and demanded to know where she went. She replied, “How am I supposed to have secrets if I can’t tell lies?” That’s not a Morrissey lyric, but it could be.

[Host Andy] Cohen was impressed by the comment from the teenage Maya, saying, “I would think, knowing your father, that he actually respected that.”

“He did!” Maya confirmed. “He was like, ‘F*ck this kid!’ He was like, ‘Oh, that’s good.’”

If you’re Ethan Hawke and you have a child with Uma Thurman, don’t be surprised if they turn out to be whip smart. And a good actress. Speaking of: when asked by Yahoo! Entertainment about Robin’s crush on Vickie in Stranger Things, and whether they should end up together, Hawke replied, “I don’t know. I feel mixed about it. I feel like there’s that’s both a great thing, and I also love characters where their love life is not the center of their existence.”

Stranger Things season 5 is expected to premiere in 2024 or 2025.

Ron DeSantis Parachuted Into San Francisco To Stand On A Graffitied Street Corner And Bloviate About ‘Riff-Raff Just Running Around’

Republican presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis is on tour these days, running through the country and sweating through shirts in Oklahoma humidity. That’s quite something when one considers that he’s used to Florida humidity, but hey, it was a hot day in Tulsa, and it distracted people from his silly jihad on Disney and the Ol’ Puddin’ fingers thing.

For his next act, DeSantis pulled a Marjorie Taylor Greene and headed to a major American city, where he proceeded to complain about all of the filthiness and drugs that he witnessed, supposedly at the hands of “Leftist policies.” He chose a particularly graffiti-filled background to do so.

In addition to complaining about “so many businesses boarded up and I’ve seen so much riff-raff just running around,” he places the blame squarely upon Democrats:

“We’re here in the once great city of San Francisco. We came in here and we saw people defecating on the street, we saw people using heroin, we saw people smoking crack cocaine. The city is not vibrant anymore. It’s really collapsed because of Leftist policies and these policies have caused people to flee this area. They don’t prosecute criminals like they do in most parts of the country.”

DeSantis appeared to be firing shots at London Breed, who is the first Black female mayor of San Francisco. She took office in 2018 and almost immediately installed what was dubbed as a “Poop Patrol,” which was a crew of people who do pick up after those who defecated in public. So it’s not as though she isn’t aware of the issues facing San Francisco, and in fact, she launched an all-out effort to solve the many maladies plaguing the Tenderloin neighborhood, and Assistant Police Chief David Lazar was quoted by CBS news as declaring, “The 300 block of Hyde has been one of our biggest challenges… Right now, it hasn’t looked this good in a long time.” Yes, there’s lots of work left to do, but the difficulties didn’t start yesterday.

Still, DeSantis has had it with the “riff-raff,” and that word is a standout.

Also, Florida does have its own reputation, and it’s not about Rocky Horror Picture Show at all. That’s a shame.

Eliminate secondhand vape smoke with this groundbreaking personal filter

We’ve all experienced it at some point, haven’t we? That unexpected cloud of secondhand vape smoke engulfs you while you mind your own business, walk down the street, or sit in a park. Whether you’re the culprit behind the cloud or the unwilling participant breathing it in, the concerns about the potential health risks and societal implications of secondhand vape smoke are far too real. Even as vaping has been lauded as a safer alternative to traditional smoking, the impact on bystanders can be just as intrusive and potentially harmful.

Enter PHILTER, a company that has made it its mission to put an end to this all-too-familiar scenario. With a laser-focused dedication to bettering the lives of cannabis and nicotine users, PHILTER champions a future where vaping and a clean environment aren’t mutually exclusive. But what sets the PHREND and the POCKET apart from the crowd are their unique abilities to provide a discreet, odorless, and stress-free vaping experience. Gone are the days of uncomfortable stares from bystanders as you exhale a cloud of smoke. With these revolutionary personal filters, your exhalations are practically invisible, leaving no trace of smell or visible smoke. Imagine taking a vape break at your office, home, or even public places without worrying about a lingering scent or offending others. That’s not just smart smoking; that’s considerate smoking. And with PHILTER, it’s the new norm.

The PHREND

Let’s take a closer look at the PHREND, the perfect companion for the professional smoker. This isn’t your ordinary filter. It boasts an innovative, plant-based polymer filter that doesn’t just vanish into thin air but decomposes in less than three years. That’s a massive leap from the nearly one thousand years it takes for regular plastic to break down! Plus, with a newly designed mouthpiece for efficient exhales and a capacity of up to 500 exhales per filter, it’s safe to say that the PHREND isn’t just environmentally friendly; it’s also a beast at handling those hefty vaping sessions.

Not only does this innovative packaging reduce waste, but it also supports declining bee populations by providing them with a new pollen source. The POCKET

Let’s shift our spotlight to PHILTER’s reigning champ, the crowd-pleasing POCKET. As PHILTER’s bestseller, the POCKET is a compact powerhouse designed to revolutionize your vaping routine. But what makes it such a fan favorite? Apart from its sleek design and user-friendly interface, the POCKET includes an antimicrobial filtration phase. Gunna’s Hopeful ‘Alright’ Video Captures Him In Search Of A Silver Lining

If anyone has need of some positive affirmations, it’s Gunna. The YSL rapper was locked up with his labelmates and accused of being in a gang, and after being denied bail three times over the course of six months, he finally accepted a plea deal that got him out, only to be branded a snitch by the hip-hop community at large. Since it doesn’t seem like those words of comfort are coming from anyone else anytime soon, he gives them to himself in “Alright” from his new album A Gift And A Curse.

In the video, Gunna isolates himself in what looks like the bottom of an air shaft (this set has made appearances in plenty of videos before), where he ponders his current situation and looks for the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. Whether the warm reception of his new album will help reverse the course of his recent run of misfortunes remains to be seen, but as he tells himself, it’s gonna be alright.

Now The Weeknd Has Twitter Beef With Oreo (The Cookie, Yes) Over ‘The Idol’

HBO’s new original series The Idol has proven to be one of the most polarizing shows of the year. The series, created by Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson, Reza Fahim, and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, tells the story of a young pop star named Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) who falls in love with a cult-leader named Tedros (The Weeknd).

Many fans have panned the series, likening the show’s graphic sex scenes and gratuitous nudity to those of “softcore porn.”

Last week, it was reported that the series had been canceled after only two episodes had aired, however, HBO released a statement noting that a decision hasn’t been made yet. Still, a certain cookie brand was more than happy to celebrate early.

After PopCrave tweeted “#TheIdol will reportedly not return for a second season,” Oreo responded from their official account, saying, “finally some good news.”

Though the interaction took place nearly a week ago, The Weeknd only caught wind of it this morning (June 21).

“Oh f*ck they been talkin sh*t,” said The Weeknd.

Despite Oreo’s evident disdain for The Idol, The Weeknd insists it’s all love between the two of them.

“naw I can’t beef with you @Oreo too many beautiful memories…,” he said. “I’m dunking you in some champagne tonight.”

New episodes of The Idol air Sunday nights at 9 p.m. EST on HBO. You can also stream the episodes on Max (if you must).

Ava Max Was Slapped ‘So Hard’ After Someone Reportedly Jumped On The Stage During Her LA Show Last Night

Just days after Bebe Rexha suffered an injury after having a phone thrown at her from the crowd of her NYC show, another pop star has reportedly been injured by a “fan.” In a new video from Ava Max‘s concert in Los Angeles, she was slapped by an audience member on the stage.

“He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye,” Max shared on Twitter, complete with a few angry emojis. “He’s never coming to a show again… thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!”

In the video, the man can be spotted clearly extending his hand and hitting Max. She then puts her hand over her eye and walks offstage.

“I don’t know what exactly happened but first Bebe Rexha now you? Why is violence starting to increase at concerts people are paying to be at? Hope you’re good,” one user wrote.

“I’m so sorry that happened queen glad you’re okay,” another added.

According to one Ava Max update account, he also hadn’t been invited but had jumped up onto the stage during the final song. In the video, you can also see a security guard trying to move the man away from Max as her backup dancers continued in behind her. However, he still got close enough.

Victor Wembanyama Says He Plans To Play In Summer League

San Antonio Spurs games during NBA Summer League this year are going to be must-watch events … well, at least for the first game or two. That’s because Victor Wembanyama, who is going to go No. 1 overall to the Spurs in the NBA Draft on Thursday, announced during his pre-Draft press availability that he plans to participate in Summer League.

It’s worth mentioning that the Spurs will participate in both the California Classic, which takes place in Sacramento on July 3-5, and the Las Vegas Summer League, which runs from July 7-17. As such, it’s not clear when Wembanyama would play, although it is probably safe to assume that he’d suit up in Vegas and go up against the rest of his Draft class, along with the second and third-year players who are participating.

Of course, the decision will be made with the Spurs front office after he’s formally on the team, and it’s worth mentioning that Wembanyama is coming off of a long season in France where he led his team, Metropolitans 92, to the LNB Championship Game, which took place last Thursday. There’s also no guarantee that he’s going to play in every game, as there have been plenty of high-profile draftees who have only suited up once or twice in Las Vegas before getting shut down altogether.

Taylor Sheridan Revealed The Major Screen Legend Who Agreed To Play John Dutton When ‘Yellowstone’ Was In Development For HBO

Before Yellowstone became the crown jewel of the Paramount Network and turned creator Taylor Sheridan into the architect of a massive TV empire, the western series was knocking around HBO.

However, short-sighted execs at the premium channel weren’t entirely sold on the sprawling cowboy drama and voiced concerns that it felt “too Middle America.” Determined to make the series work, Sheridan continued to jump through hoops and even went so far as locking down a major actor to play Yellowstone patriarch John Dutton. It was quite the casting coup, so the prolific writer was not exactly thrilled to learn that HBO didn’t expect him to take their instructions literally.

Via The Hollywood Reporter:

“They said, ‘We want Robert Redford,’ ” Sheridan recalls. “They said, ‘If you can get us Robert Redford, we’ll greenlight the pilot.’ “

Being a can-do type of guy, Sheridan went to visit Robert Redford.

“I drive to Sundance and spend the day with him and he agrees to play John Dutton,” Sheridan says. “I call the senior vice president in charge of production and say, ‘I got him!’ ‘You got who?’ ‘Robert Redford.’ ‘What?!‘ ‘You said if I got Robert Redford, you’d greenlight the show.’ “

“And he says — and you can’t make this shit up — ‘We meant a Robert Redford type.’ ”

The Robert Redford incident was the beginning of the end of Sheridan trying to make Yellowstone work at HBO. (He’d later hang up on execs during a notes call.) Normally, that would’ve been the end of line for the show, but to Sheridan’s credit, he had impressed then-programming president Michael Lombardo, who was always supportive of the show. Just before Lombardo fired during a regime change, he managed to return the rights to Yellowstone to Sheridan, and the rest is TV history.

Usher, Not Beyoncé, Is ‘This Generation’s Stevie Wonder,’ According To Samuel L. Jackson’s Daughter

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Samuel L. Jackson discussed not only his new Marvel show that begins streaming today (it’s called Secret Invasion and it’s on Disney Plus) but also, fittingly enough for the publication, his taste in music. And while some of his responses are no surprise, others are, and some are just downright illuminating.

In addition to admitting that he likes the music of the late Juice WRLD, he also draws an interesting parallel between Stevie Wonder, Usher, and Beyoncé. Check out his full response below:

There’s some music of my youth that I still listen to. I like rock music — I was sort of a hippie during the Sixties — and in the Seventies, when I was in Atlanta, there was this Black rock band called Mother’s Finest. They played at Alex Cooley’s Electric Ballroom. I listen to a lot of modern hip-hop also. Sometimes I’ll turn on some spatial DJ on Apple Music to hear whatever’s out there now. I’m pretty open to everything except country. [Laughs] The personal hip-hop music is very interesting to me. Back when Juice WRLD was alive, I listened to that. The kid was having some issues, but the music was still good. I remember asking my daughter and her friends who their Stevie Wonder was, and they said, “Usher.” They didn’t say Beyoncé. They said, Usher.

The Weeknd Believes Some People ‘Decided A Long Time Ago’ They Were Going To Hate ‘The Idol’

Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye is still reacting to people’s reactions about his show with Sam Levinson, HBO’s The Idol. While the series is only three episodes in, it has become quite a hot topic online, particularly over whether it’s actually good.

Earlier this morning, The Weeknd put out a meme of sorts, which featured a photo of his Idol character and the caption, “Tedros Nation Rise.” Obviously, users had a lot of thoughts about this post.

“Trying the meme the show to be good now YIKES,” one person quoted.

The Weeknd wound up replying right back. “Nope people who hate it decided a long time ago… it’s fine. If you hate it don’t watch it. And let the fans enjoy… simple,” he told the person.

Over the past few days, the musician has been trying to change people’s minds about the show, and not just stan Twitter. The Weeknd found today that even Oreo’s Twitter account was piling onto the Idol hate. “Oh f*ck they been talkin sh*t,” he reacted.

“Naw I can’t beef with you @Oreo too many beautiful memories… I’m dunking you in some champagne tonight,” The Weeknd added in a separate tweet.

He’s even started retweeting an “Out Of Context The Idol” account and searching keywords for what others are saying about the show — praising the positive and discouraging the negative.
