Tierra Whack Was Arrested For Bringing A Loaded Gun To Philadelphia International Airport

Tierra Whack has been quiet on the music front lately, but that hasn’t stopped her from receiving attention thanks to a shout out from Beyoncé. However, her latest headline is for a different reason entirely. According to ABC Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love rapper was arrested Tuesday (November 8) for bringing a loaded gun to the Philadelphia International Airport checkpoint. Whack (her real name) was charged with disorderly conduct, according to District Attorney Larry Krasner. Fortunately, she is licensed to own and carry the weapon, which should reduce penalties for what is likely an oversight.

Whack’s most recent music release came in December of 2021 with the video for “Heaven” from her R&B? EP. R&B? was one of three EPs she released in 2021, each named for a different genre. Rap? featured the songs “Meagan Good,” “Millions,” and “Stand Up,” while Pop? contained “Body Of Water,” “Dolly,” and “Lazy.” The three EPs constituted Whack’s first multi-song releases since her breakout 2018 album Whack World, which is described as her debut studio album despite only being 15 minutes long.

“Dolly” got renewed attention earlier this year when indie artist Kevin Morby covered it for SiriusXM radio. Whack herself took her first tentative steps into acting this year, appearing in the Adam Sandler NBA drama Hustle. She should

Marjorie Taylor Greene Blasts ‘Wimpy’ Republicans Who Are Blaming Trump For Midterm Results: ‘It Is Pathetic’

As Republicans lick their wounds over a “red wave” failing to materialize in the midterm election results, Donald Trump has been receiving a significant amount of blame for the party’s lackluster performance. Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of the few GOP victors, is not having it. While appearing on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast, Greene lashed out at Republicans who are blaming Trump for the Democrats winning in several key states.

“I want to tell you how shortsighted and ridiculous that is,” Greene ranted. “It is pathetic the people that are running out saying it’s his fault. No, that is a lazy, pathetic, wimpy, easy mindset.”

The Georgia Republican continued to launch an impassioned defense of the former president. Via Mediaite:

“President Trump, isn’t the problem? President Trump is doing everything he can to help Republicans across the country and help Republicans win while he is being already politically persecuted worse than any human being in our country’s history,” Greene argued, parroting a common talking point from Trump. “That’s the real truth. People that want to blame Trump, they are lazy. And that’s the problem.”

Greene’s remark comes on the heels of reports that Trump is reportedly furious over the midterm results. The former president has been screaming at everyone over the “humiliating” loss and has reportedly gone so far as to blame his own wife for telling him to back Dr. Oz in Pennsylvania. Trump is also reportedly fighting off pleas from his advisor to hold off on announcing his 2024 presidential run as the Republican Party is probably not in the mood for it right now.

Sheryl Lee Ralph’s Shimmering Bodysuit Was The Talk Of The Town At Rihanna’s ‘Savage X Fenty Vol. 4’ Show

Sheryl Lee Ralph has found herself in the TV spotlight over these past couple of years thanks to playing Barbara Howard in Abbott Elementary. Then, last week, it was revealed that fans would soon get to see her in a much different role than that of buttoned-up kindergarten teacher: modeling in Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 show.

The show premiered today (November 9) on Prime Video and sure enough, Ralph was a highlight. The 65-year-old popped up in a sparkly silver/olive bodysuit with a bustier-like top, paired with a matching jacket that she wore open.

Ralph, of course, has experience when it comes to putting on glamorous performances, as she won a Tony Award for her role in the Broadway musical Dreamgirls.

Ahead of the show, Ralph explained how she got involved, saying, “I got a call from Rihanna. Yes, Riri. It’s through her, to the people, to you. It’s basically, ‘Ask her if she’d walk in the Savage show.’ […] But, to hear that you’ve been requested by her — and, trust me , this is no Victoria’s Secret fashion show, baby. This is something on a different level. When I saw the choreography and I saw her vision that she had, walking through the mountains and all, I was like, alrighty, then. This is special.”

Check out some reactions to Ralph’s Savage X Fenty appearance below.

Is Takeoff’s Funeral Open To The Public?

After rapper and Migos member Takeoff tragically passed in Houston on November 1, there was an outpouring of love and support from his fans and fellow artists alike.

Now, his funeral services have been organized so fans will be able to pay tribute to an influential rapper. It will be held on November 11 at noon in Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. Free tickets are only available for Georgia residents, as passes were made available on Ticketmaster yesterday. They have since sold out. According to Vulture, there is also a no-photo policy for Takeoff’s funeral service.

His family has also requested that instead of gifts or flowers, donations be made to The Rocket Foundation. It is a non-profit that seeks to prevent gun violence.

Pastor Jesse Curney III of Lilburn’s New Mercies Christian Church is slated to give the eulogy. Takeoff, whose real name was Kirshnik Ball, attended the church.

“I was really sad to hear the news,” Curney said in a statement. “Kirshnik has been a faithful member since he was ten years old. He and his family were active and avid supporters of the church and the community as a whole.”

There are also likely to be some of Takeoff’s friends from the rap world attending. Drake has since noticeably rescheduled his Apollo Theater show dates to no longer coincide with the funeral’s date.

GloRilla Asserts Her Sexual Dominance With Her Raunchy New Single ‘Nut Quick’

This Friday, rapper GloRilla‘s major-label debut EP, Anyways, Life’s Great, will be released. As fans eagerly await its arrival, the Memphis native is giving them something to hold them over. Her new single, “Nut Quick,” produced by Arayonthetrack, is a step back from the spiritual undertones heard on “Tomorrow 2” featuring Cardi B.

Instead, “Nut Quick” serves as GloRilla’s unfiltered thoughts on quick a few trendy social media topics, including hookup culture, gender roles, and women’s sexual liberation. While GloRilla isn’t the first woman rapper to discuss these topics, her approach to shaping these conversations into songs makes her viewpoint much more potent.

The opening lyric, “if you don’t get the fuck out of here, what are you doing here,” shows GloRilla’s lack of investment in respectability politics. The rapper will not downplay her sexual appetite and encourages women to follow her lead. Another line in the song that addresses this is, “he thought I would be crazy after sex, but I ain’t nothin’ / he could’ve been my favorite sneaky link, but he just nut quick.” which inspired the song’s title. GloRilla is here for a good time, not a long time. Therefore, her casual sex partner or “sneaky link” needs to keep up, or she’s onto someone who can.

In the vein of honesty, GloRilla shows that her pursuits of sexual liberation have forced her to make complicated decisions. “Found out I was pregnant, got it gone, and I ain’t f*ck since,” she raps, facing the reality that unwanted pregnancies are sometimes a consequence.

Just as she holds herself accountable for her actions, GloRilla holds men that subscribe to “boss culture” to that same standard. It costs to be the boss, and GloRilla will not settle for anything other than the ‘princess treatment,’ as she raps, “First date, meet me at the mall since he say he boss enough / And I’ma put that n**** back if he say it cost too much (broke ass).”

Chloe X Halle Have Both Said They Would Like To Play Storm In ‘X-Men’: ‘She Doesn’t Take Any Sh*t’

Both Chlöe and Halle Bailey are set to appear on the silver screen next year. Chlöe will star in Praise This, which tells the story of youth choirs gearing up for a music competition. Halle will star as Ariel in The Little Mermaid and Nettie in The Color Purple.

In a recent interview with Variety, Chlöe expressed that she would like to play Storm in an upcoming adaptation of X-Men.

“I’ve always wanted to be a superhero, and she’s my favorite one, so you can fill in the blanks,” Chlöe said. “She is just so fierce and sexy and strong — all of the things I want to be — and she’s beautiful at the same time. And she doesn’t take any sh*t”

Chlöe dressed up as Storm for Halloween this year, and even received a co-sign from Halle Berry, who originally played Storm.

“She’s taking it,” said Berry in a tweet.

Back at Disney’s D23 expo in September, Chlöe’s sister Halle also expressed to Variety an interest in playing Storm in the future.

“I think any Marvel superhero would just be amazing,” Halle said. “I mean, I love Storm. I love so many, I love so many. That would just be cool.”

Michael Moore Is Celebrating After Being Pretty Much The Only Pundit Who Predicted The Dems Would Do Well In The Midterms

If Michael Moore ever decides to abandon filmmaking, he could make a pretty good living as a psychic. Back in 2016, when few people thought that Donald Trump had a snowball’s chance in hell of being elected president, the Oscar-winning documentarian tried to warn America to not underestimate the former reality show host. And when it came to the 2022 midterms, Moore has been optimistically predicting that we would see a “blue tsunami.”

While we’re still awaiting the full results of yesterday’s elections, a “tsunami” doesn’t appear possible on the horizon. But the Democrats did well enough — and could do better still — to stop the red wave that so many others were predicting. Which is good enough for Moore.

In his most recent daily post, Mike’s Midterm Tsunami Truth #41, the Bowling for Columbine director shared headlines from major outlets like The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, which dismissed the much-talked-about “red wave.”

“I’ve checked my inbox and so many of you have written to me through the night,” wrote Moore. “So many of you who worked hard over these last months to prevent the bloodbath. A fascist takeover by a full slate of election deniers and voting suppressors.”

“And now we know there will be no bloodbath,” he continued. “Not today. And it’s because we and millions of others erected a force field around the haters and bigots to stop them in their tracks. And that is what has happened. Sometimes you have to lose a battle or two in order to win the war.”

While Moore acknowledged that the “blue tsunami” he had hoped for did not materialize, he noted that the second best choice had indeed occurred: “To make sure there would be no red wave.” While the ultimate fate of the midterms will could remain unknown for days, if not weeks (should Georgia’s senate race lead to a runoff election, which is looking very likely, even according to state officials), for right now, Moore is happy:

As Election Day 2022 came to an end, the Republicans last night were in a state of shock as they found themselves, at least for now, in control of neither the House nor the Senate! They were unable to throw a single Democrat out of the United States Senate. In fact just the opposite happened — the Democrats were able to flip control of their Pennsylvania Senate seat from a Republican to a Democrat. In stunned disbelief, the Democrats instantly went from a 50-50 Senate to a 51-49 Senate in their favor. Georgia and Nevada are still too close to call, but the Democrat in Georgia holds a small lead, and the Democrat in Nevada has played see-saw all night with the Republican. To be clear, they’ll be counting these votes for days, if not weeks, and so it’s anybody’s guess what could happen.

In the meantime, Moore encouraged his readers and followers to enjoy this moment — and to pat themselves on the back for the courageous step they took to stand up for America. As he concluded:

We were lied to for months by the pundits and pollsters and the media. Voters had not “moved on” from the Supreme Court’s decision to debase and humiliate women by taking federal control over their reproductive organs. Crime was not at the forefront of the voters “simple” minds. Neither was the price of milk. It was their Democracy that they came to fight for yesterday. And because of that drive, we live to fight, and hope, for another day…

As a therapist, here are the three rules I give my sons to combat toxic behavior

Most parents aim to raise good humans no matter their gender, but sometimes society comes in and muddies the water a bit. You can’t turn on a device without reading words like “gentle parenting” or “toxic masculinity.” A wild guess tells me that most people don’t want to raise boys that grow up to fall into the category of toxic masculinity, but there don’t seem to be many instructions on how to prevent it.

I won’t pretend that I have all the answers and I don’t want this to read as a humble brag because kids have a way of nevering like they never did before when we dare to say, “my child would never.” It’s just science. Well, maybe not science, but definitely an anecdotal observation.

What I can tell you is the things I’ve been doing to help combat the temptations of toxic masculinity. I have three boys, two of whom are teenagers, and while I would never say never, I can say they have been praised by teachers and authority figures. I’ve also been asked what I do differently, so I figured I’d share.

I’ll admit, it’s a little hard for me to pinpoint because I’ve instilled these messages in my boys since their birth, so they’re not things I give much thought to anymore. But to identify what I do differently, I enlisted the help of my sons and, lucky for me and hopefully you, they gave me a list of three key differences they notice.

1. If it shocks you or makes you angry, research it.

If there’s one thing that tends to make people more empathetic humans it’s education. A lot of times people react emotionally when they hear something they don’t believe or that’s upsetting. Instead of stewing in the anger and digging their heels in, my boys know how to research whatever the issue is using nonbiased phrases.

Four young people sitting on bridge over of body of water.

An example of this is when my 14-year-old shocked the snot out of me by saying that most women falsely accuse men of assault. This was really upsetting to him to “know” because, of course, he didn’t want to be falsely accused of anything. I didn’t get upset, I only asked where he got the information and empathized how hearing that could make him feel. Once we got the feelings out of the way, I pointed him to Google and showed him what reputable sites looked like. We even talked about using Google Scholar.

Education makes things less scary and helps people unlearn myths or give context to inflammatory information they read on the internet.

2. Everyone experiences every emotion. Feel them, express them and talk it out.

Boys can experience other emotions outside of anger and happiness. I encourage my kids to name their emotions and to express them, whether it’s at me because I’ve messed up or just in general. Once the feeling is named and expressed, let’s get down to whatever the underlying emotion was. Sometimes it turns out to be disappointment and not sadness, or embarrassment, not anger.

If we can name the actual feeling, we can talk it out. They can find ways to address the issue that caused the feeling or take responsibility if it’s something they did. Walking them through the whole process takes practice but it’s worth it in the end because then they can effectively express their feelings to peers, partners or teachers all while remaining respectful.

3. Speak up even when it’s hard.

Speaking up covers a lot of ground. It’s not just about calling out injustices when they see them. When I talk to my sons about using their voices, we talk about consent and what it looks like to properly ask for affirmative consent. It also covers speaking up when you witness inappropriate behaviors toward girls and vice versa.

When my 17-year-old was in middle school, he had instances where this lesson came in handy. On one occasion, the school bus was being loaded at the end of the day and after my son took his seat, he noticed two boys grabbing at a girl’s behind as she told them to stop. He spoke up then informed the bus driver and principal of what happened.

While these three “rules” are helpful in combating toxic masculinity, they’re also helpful to teach all children. Kids are influenced by what they see outside of their homes and on the internet, and if parents can be the counterbalance, we can all put good humans out into the world.
