Mike Brown Torched The Officials For Not Calling A Travel On Tyler Herro’s Game-Winning Three

The Miami Heat avenged a loss from Saturday in Sacramento with a hard-fought 110-107 win over the Kings, this time at home in Miami, on Wednesday night.

The fourth quarter saw both teams go back and forth, with the game up for grabs into the closing seconds when Tyler Herro hit a tough three with under three seconds on the clock to give the Heat the win.

It was an incredible shot, but also looked to be a travel as Herro does a little hop with both feet to reset after the initial pump fake. It went uncalled, so it’s neither here nor there at this point, but that didn’t stop Kings head coach Mike Brown from ripping into the officials after the game for the “unbelievable” decision not to call a travel on Herro’s final shot, while also recognizing that he was going to get a fine no matter what so he might as well air all his grievances with the officiating in the game as well.

Most teams feel they get a bad whistle on most nights, because the reality is officiating NBA games, with as much contact as there is and as fast as the action is, is a nearly impossible task. That said, Brown probably has a reasonable gripe about the Herro shot as, in the words of Bill Raftery, those puppies were not organized, but there won’t be much satisfaction for Brown if that comes up as a wrong call on the Last Two Minute report tomorrow — along with what is almost assuredly a fine coming his way.

Drake And 21 Savage Share The ‘Her Loss’ Album Cover And Fans Are Roasting It

Taylor Swift made history as the first artist to occupy all top-10 spots on Billboard‘s Hot 100 this week. Drake was the previous record-holder by claiming nine after Certified Lover Boy‘s September 2021 arrival. (One of those nine was “Knife Talk” featuring 21 Savage and Project Pat.) And now, Drake and 21 Savage are coming for it all with Her Loss, their collaborative album dropping Friday (November 4).

The album’s rollout has been immaculate, including a photoshopped Vogue cover, faux NPR Tiny Desk Concert teaser and spoof Howard Stern interview. Shortly after sharing the Stern spoof on Wednesday night (November 2), Drake and 21 revealed the Her Loss “front cover” — and fans are not impressed.

Some people fixated on identifying the woman. There was speculation that it was Sukihana before Complex confirmed it was Sukii Baby. Regardless, the lukewarm feedback is aimed at Drake:

Her Loss was confirmed in the video for “Jimmy Cooks,” Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind No. 1 single featuring 21 Savage. The initial release date was October 28 but had to be pushed to November 4 because of producer Noah “40” Shebib testing positive for COVID-19.

“Our brother @ovo40 got Covid while mixing and mastering the crack so he’s resting up and NOVEMBER 4TH is HER LOSS day we’ll see you soon,” Drake wrote on his Instagram Story last week.

It’s possible that the Her Loss era could extend into 2023. In one of the Howard Stern spoof clips, Drake and 21 Savage tease a possible performance at London’s famed O2 Arena “as some real homecoming sh*t” for Savage, “the pride of London.”

Watch all of the Stern clips below.

Her Loss is out 11/4.

21 Savage Names His Favorite ‘Harry Potter’ Book, And Drake Shares Savage’s Favorite Places To Read

Drake and 21 Savage have the internet buzzing tonight (November 4) by trickling out clips from what can only be presumed as a spoof interview with Howard Stern. The Her Loss rollout, so far, has mocked the usual promotional cycles artists go through, including a fake Vogue cover and a teaser for an NPR Tiny Desk Concert that is not actually happening. But we’re holding out hope that Savage’s love for reading is real.

One of the Stern clips features Stern asking if Drake and Savage have “a nerdy book club.” Drake calls Savage “an avid reader.” The OVO boss adds, “We’ll be in the strip club, backstage at the show, in his hood, like, on his block and sh*t, and he’ll just pull a book out.”

Charlotte’s Web,” Savage interjects. “Harry Potter, too. I love ’em. Sorcerer’s Stone m*therf*cker.”

Harry Potter may be the UK’s best wizard, but in a separate Stern clip, Savage says he “might be the greatest rapper from my country” and Drake calls him “the pride of London.” And that’s before mentioning the clip that explores Drake’s porn preferences and views on monogamy.

The official album cover for Her Loss was also revealed tonight, featuring Sukii Baby. See it below.

Drake Shares His Favorite Porn Category And Talks Monogamy With 21 Savage In A Spoof Howard Stern Interview

Drake and 21 Savage are releasing their joint album, Her Loss, on Friday (November 4). Or, at lease we think that’s the truth. We should have known how this rollout was going to go when 21 denied its existence in the comments days before it was confirmed in the “Jimmy Cooks” video. Believe nothing.

Tonight (November 2), Drake posted a clip of an interview with Howard Stern to Instagram with the caption, “Absolutely NO filter with the incomparable @sternshow 🥀 thanks for having us.” It’s safe to assume it’s a cleverly edited spoof based on the photoshopped Vogue cover and fake NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert. But its validity is obsolete, really, because the subject matter is still entertaining, and it’s generating more buzz than a traditional press run.

In the clip dated October 26, 2022, Stern asks, “What type of porn are you watching?” It cuts from a split screen to Drake and 21 Savage on a set meant to emulate Stern’s but never shows all three of them at once. “Top,” Drake responds. “Highest tier of top givers. That’s really what I’m consistently, like on a daily basis, tuned into. Just really, like, those are the real superstars of the world to me.”

“And what about love?” Stern asks. “Could you ever commit to one woman? Be married. You could be married?”

“I wanna hear his answer,” 21 says, before Drake takes over, “I’m sure I could, you know? I think that, eventually, once all this is said and done for us and that addiction of work and success and forward movement is over, I feel like we’re all gonna need something real. Hopefully, it’s not too late. But then, right now, I feel like I get into this habit of dating four or five women to make one woman because I like these two things about this girl, and then I like what this girl does for a living. Honestly, I don’t know — hopefully I’ll find somebody. The biggest thing is I need to be inspired.”

Tyler James Williams Impressed Many With His ‘F.N.F.’ Freestyle On ‘Sway In The Morning’

Tyler James Williams has relentlessly proved himself as an actor with his roles in Everybody Hates Chris, The Walking Dead, and more recently Abbott Elementary. But today (November 2), he unexpectedly proved himself as a rapper. As a guest on Sway in the Morning, he engaged in a freestyle that has since gone viral on social media.

Williams broke out in a flow over Hitkidd and GloRilla’s “F.N.F.” He kept it up for a full minute and a half — prompting many people to both fawn over his deep baritone and be in awe of his uninterrupted rap. A lot of people are making references to his role in Let It Shine, saying that his musical talent isn’t that surprising.

“F.N.F.” is actually at the center of a legal battle. “So basically these folks are trying to take me to court over ‘FNF’ because they want to OWN the song,” Hitkidd wrote last month. “BUT they want to own the song to put it on this EP which both parties knew. So tell me how you gone PUT ‘FNF’ in your contract without telling me, AFTER I told you & your MANAGER everyday that we was in LA with Saweetie, that labels are going to try to sign you because of FNF so watch out.”

Colt Cabana Made His AEW Return And Fans Couldn’t Resist CM Punk Jokes

It’s been nearly two months since CM Punk went nuclear in his post-match press conference on his relationship with Colt Cabana and what led to their friendship ending before ultimately reportedly fighting the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega backstage.

While there hasn’t been any official announcement on Punk’s future or the status of the Bucks and Omega, the writing has been pretty clearly on the wall in recent weeks with first the AEW Twitter account teasing the return of the Bucks and Omega and later Wednesday night Cabana returning as the surprise challenger for Chris Jericho’s ROH world championship.

When Cabana appeared as the challenger, fans on Twitter couldn’t help taking shots at Punk upon his nemesis once again appearing on AEW.

Cabana ultimately came up short in the match, but the message Tony Khan is sending seems quite clear on which side the promotion has chosen.

Punk’s falling out with Cabana stemmed from his infamous podcast appearance post-WWE that resulted in lawsuits against WWE doctor Dr. Chris Amann, and later lawsuits brought against each other. After it was reported that Punk had some involvement in Cabana, who was part of the AEW roster a year ago, being sent to ROH, Tony Khan came out in defense of Punk. We’ll see what this means for Cabana’s status in AEW and ROH, but it’s appearing less likely by the day that Punk will step foot in AEW again.

Republican Insiders Are Pretty Sure Ron DeSantis Isn’t Brave Enough To Run Against Trump If He Runs In 2024

For the last couple years, Ron DeSantis has come off like a tough guy. He didn’t need your vaccine mandates or masks or social distancing. He could bully kids in front of television cameras, and none of his base would care. His ego got so big that he even quietly came for the king himself: Donald Trump, his most famous resident, who hates his guts because he thinks he’ll challenge him for the 2024 presidential bid. Well, turns out even DeSantis may find that a bridge too far.

Vanity Four spoke to four Republican insiders, asking if they thought DeSantis would run if Trump decided he was as well. The answer: probably not. One, who had spoken to Republican donors, said, “He’s led them to believe he will not run if Trump does.”

Another pointed out that he’s only 44, with half of his whole life ahead of him. Why risk alienating the party by going head-to-head with its big cheese (who lives in a resort, ranting to strangers). “He can walk into the presidency in 2028 without pissing off Trump or Florida,” the source told VF. “What would you rather do? Be the governor of Florida for certain or go run for president?”

As of now, DeSantis and Trump remain at loggerheads. “They hate each other,” a source said, bluntly. But while Trump is famously petty, he’s also famously forgiving — provided one flip-flops to his side. After all, he’s about to campaign for Marco Rubio, whom he’s been known to flay on live television. Besides, as embattled as Trump is on many sides, it’s not like he can’t run for president from prison.

Is Netflix’s ‘From Scratch’ Based On A True Story?

Warning: This post contains spoilers for From Scratch.

Last month, Netflix viewers fell in love with a new limited series. From Scratch stars Zoe Saldana as Amy, an American student studying abroad in Italy who falls in love with a Sicilian chef named Lino (Eugenio Mastrandrea). It starts off romantic enough. But keep watching and things soon turn heavy. Given all the melodramatic turns, it seems like it could be purest fiction. But is it?

The answer is: no — for the most part. From Scratch is based upon the memoir of the same name by Tembi Locke. The version that made it to the small screen — with help from Locke herself — takes a fair amount of liberties with the true story. For one thing, the names are changed. Thembi is named Amy. Lino was really named Rosario, or “Saro.” For another, some of the events were altered. It’s true that Locke moved back to the U.S., leaving Saro behind, as in the show. But in real life, Saro eventually moved with her to Los Angeles.

But some things are exactly like they were in real life — or close enough to it. For instance, the Florence apartment where Amy meets Lino was next to Locke’s real apartment. What’s more, the part where Lino stands in the rain is exactly where Saro once stood. That bar Amy works at? It was the exact one that Saro owned. A cooking scene, in which Amy uses too much vinegar, was inspired by a similar real-life incident. Indeed, a lot of the smaller, more intimate moments in the show are at least inspired by things that really happened.

Some of the bigger ones happened, too. Locke and Saro did adopt a daughter, as Amy and Lino do on the show. Locke also did go to Sicily to bury Saro, as happens in the show.

So there you have it: Like most films inspired by real life, certain liberties are taken, but the Netflix Like Scratch isn’t all that different from the Real McCoy. Still, however much it may make viewers weep into soiled hankies, at least it’s not upsetting like other Netflix docudrama series like Inventing Anna or Dahmer.
