Ring doorbell video captures the phenomenon of what it’s like to be the default parent

Kids, man. I’m not sure of the scientific way audacity is distributed, but kids have a lot of it and somehow make it cute. That audacity overload is especially interesting when you’re the default parent—you know, the parent kids go to for literally everything as if there’s not another fully capable adult in the house. Chances are if your children haven’t sought you out while you were taking a shower so you could open up a pack of fruit snacks, then you’re not the default parental unit.

One parent captured exactly what it’s like to be the default parent and shared it to TikTok, where the video has over 4 million views. Toniann Marchese went on a quick grocery run and *gasp* did not inform her children. Don’t you fret, they’re modern kids who know how to use modern means to get much-needed answers when mom is nowhere to be found. They went outside and rang the doorbell.

Back when we were children, this would’ve done nothing but make the dogs bark, but for Marchese’s kids, who are 3 and 6 years old, it’s as good as a phone call.

You may be questioning why this mom left her two young children home alone. She didn’t. Their father was home, likely wondering why the children were playing so quietly. But. He. Was. Right. There. And the kids still bypassed him to talk to their mom through the Ring doorbell camera. It was pressing business, after all.

“My tablet is dead,” the 3-year-old said.

The kids ignored Marchese’s questions about where their dad was and continued to complain about their tablets. The entire situation is enough to make any default parent chuckle and maybe sob a little.

Watch the urgent doorbell call below:

Moms can never get a minute of peace lol #momsoftiktok #momlife #ring #camera #kidsoftiktok

And if you’re skeptical that dad was within shouting distance, the mom of two uploaded a part two where dad comes into the frame.

@tinyann22

Replying to @iustmerlp part 2… daddy was found! Lol #kidsoftiktok #momsoftiktok #parentsoftiktok #fyp #ring #prioritiesfirst

My kids watched 80s teen angst movies in elementary school. Here’s what I learned.

I was born on the tail end of Gen X. Too young to be considered Gen X and too old to be considered a Millennial, which means I grew up in between the forgotten generation and the one people still think are in their early 20s. I was a latch key kid with minimal supervision and a teen with unrestricted access to AOL chatrooms sending random people my A/S/L, because that’s not dangerous at all.

My older brother was five years older than me, so when that string of teen angst movies came to televisions across America, I had a front row seat. “The Breakfast Club” and “Dirty Dancing” were two of my all time favorite movies. I had no idea why Baby’s dad was treating her like a child when she was clearly an adult. As an adult, I now see that Baby absolutely needed to be in the corner.

But that didn’t stop me from introducing my kids to that famous dance and just about every John Hughes movie from that decade.

People get very excited, not in a good way, about what’s appropriate and inappropriate for children to be exposed to on television. After my kids hit elementary school, it was time to introduce them to the classic 80s movies I watched as a kid. Honestly, the stuff in the Brat Pack movies were pretty PG. Sure there are some adult themes, but the movies were for teenagers, not adults so the themes were juvenile enough for the kids to understand. The things that were a bit more adult minded went over their heads.

They could and likely still can recite every single one of Bender’s lines from “The Breakfast Club” and all of Duckie’s lines from “Pretty in Pink.” But it was “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” that my boys had on repeat for nearly six months straight and yet, they’ve never once skipped school. Never got Saturday detention or smoked the devil’s lettuce in the library.

A group of teens from the 80s.

This makes me curious what some people think happens when parents ignore the rating on movies, or kids are exposed to media some people think they’re not ready for. Typically when kids see things outside of their comprehension, they ask questions or they ignore it. Most of the time when a question is asked, kids are happy with a simple answer and aren’t really interested in digging much deeper than what was provided.

When my kids inevitably asked when the teens in “The Breakfast Club” were smoking, I answered, “a drug called marijuana. Its not for kids.” They didn’t ask anything further. In fact, the only thing they had to say about the explanation was that the kids were going to get into more trouble if they got caught. My daughter wanted a jean jacket and my son wanted leather biker gloves but that seemed to be the only influence the movie had over them.

“Pretty in Pink” inspired my daughter to learn how to sew her own dresses and she’s gotten pretty good over the years. Instead of picking up any sort of bad habits, the movies showed them empathy, how to be a good friend, and that sometimes adults don’t know everything but most of them are trying their best.

Mom brilliantly explains why she ‘never’ wants to be a supermom

Many mothers today grapple with the pressure to be a “supermom”—a force of nature who can handle her role in her family while heading various community organizations such as Girl Scouts, church groups, or their kid’s athletic teams.

This idealized version of motherhood can lead to two big problems, moms that fall short of these momentous expectations can suffer feelings of inadequacy. While those who are relied upon as supermoms can become stressed and burnt out.

Educator and podcast host Laura Danger is getting a lot of love on TikTok for a recent post where she rejects the idea that mothers should feel the need to be a supermom. She even goes further by saying that any organization that needs one isn’t fit to survive.

“I will fight anyone in the street who calls me a supermom,” she begins her video. “I am not a supermom. I never want a be a supermom. I never want anyone to refer to me as so strong. Jack of all trades. We literally couldn’t do it without her. If you weren’t here, everything would fall apart.”

She then explains that when people need supermoms in their families or organizations, it’s a sign that things are out of balance.

Im okay. I contribute. I am valued. But not as the only thing keeping it all together.

@thatdarnchat

Im okay. I contribute. I am valued. But not as the only thing keeping it all together.

“I never want to be so essential to an organization or a group or even my family that everything relies on me,” she continued. “I want to be important enough that I matter. I want to bring something to the table. But I do not want to be the one sustaining anything.”

If a woman is the supermom in a family, it could mean that their spouse isn’t pulling their weight. In an organization, if everything relies on one person, other members need to step up.

“I do not want to be so strong,” she said. “I want to live a life of ease. I want to be empowered to rest. I am not a supermom. I will never be a super mom.”

Danger believes that if an organization needs a supermom to exist, it probably shouldn’t.

“If you were to match the energy and effort being put in by other people and give just as much as them, and the whole thing would fall apart, you are overcompensating to a point that it was unsustainable,” she concluded. “If you are the thing keeping it all together, it was never sustainable.”

The post was a relief to many mothers who feel pressured to be supermoms and never considered the idea that the entire concept is toxic.

“It’s like those job postings asking for a ‘rockstar’ they just mean they want someone to overwork,” janisthwpdc commented on the post. “So absolutely true. It’s like telling someone they do the work of three people,” Seema added.

“I love this. Women in our situation need respect to feel balance—to be able to thrive and be our best which is why we were made moms to begin with,” Megs wrote.

The pressure for people to be supermoms creates a lot of stress and zaps the joy out of parenting. The fundamental job of a mother is to love and support their child, not to be a pillar that props up their entire family and community. Given all the stress of being a parent in the modern world, it’s time we start embracing “Balanced Mom” over everything else because finding a balance between work, parenting, and community is a true superpower.

The Best Classic Cocktails To Drink As Summer Winds Down, According To Bartenders

Summer is almost over. We understand that statement might be jarring for some people. Fear not, you still have plenty of time to enjoy classic, summery cocktails. In fact, while it might seem like the end of August means the end of summer, you actually have until September 21st to guarantee you’ll never get scurvy from ingesting more lime juice than you could possibly ever need while sipping gin gimlets and more sodium than your doctor is comfortable with while enjoying margaritas adorned with salted rims.

In essence, there’s more than enough time to sip on a multitude of summery cocktails. But with a seemingly endless list of refreshing cocktails to choose from, how do you narrow down the list to sippers worth imbibing during summer’s final days?

Javier Pastrana, food and beverage director at YOTEL in Miami has a pretty good idea of where to start. And it’s much simpler than you’d think.

“The best cocktail for summer months is one that is refreshing, cold, and helps beat the heat,” he says.

To find the mixed drinks that fit this criterion, we asked the folks who bide their time behind the bar for help. We turned to a few well-known bartenders for their thoughts on the best classic cocktails to drink as summer finally winds down. Keep reading to see all of their picks and even a simple recipe for each.

Tom Collins

Alex Barbatsis, bartender at The Whistler in Chicago

In my opinion, it’s a Tom Collins. Sure, you can have a margarita and it will be great. But to me having a Tom Collins during the summer makes everything come together. The combination of lemon and gin just feels right in the summertime, and it’s packed with flavor. It’s also a great one to make a lighter version of by adding more club soda to it.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. gin
  • 1 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • .5 oz. simple syrup
  • Ice
  • Top with club soda
  • Lemon wheel

Preparation:

In an ice-filled Collins glass, add gin, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. Add more ice and top with club soda. Stir and add a lemon wheel garnish.

Whiskey Sour

A Whiskey Sour — made with strong rye — cannot be beaten when the heat is getting to you. It’s boozy, sweet, slightly tart, and highly refreshing. What’s not to love during the summer months?

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. rye whiskey
  • .75 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • .5 oz. simple syrup
  • 1 oz. egg white (some say this is optional)
  • Ice

Preparation:

Add whiskey, lemon juice, egg white, and simple syrup to an ice-filled shaker. Shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass.

Gin Rickey

You can’t beat the Gin Rickey. The Gin Rickey is the official cocktail of Washington, DC, and we like to call it “air conditioning in a glass.” It’s super simple, light, refreshing, and low in sugar. Gin, lime, and soda — that’s it!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. gin
  • .5 ounces lime juice
  • Ice
  • Soda water topper
  • Lime wheel

Preparation:

Stir gin and lime juice in an ice-filled highball glass. Top with soda water. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Paloma

The Paloma is tough to beat during the summer months. It’s bright, effervescent, thirst-quenching, and easy to pair with fresh fruit juices and/or combinations of any agave spirits. I have fun playing with different recipes.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. blanco tequila
  • 2 oz. fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
  • .5 oz simple syrup
  • Ice
  • Soda water topper

Preparation:

Add tequila, simple syrup, and grapefruit juice to an ice-filled glass. Stir. Top with soda water. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit.

Whiskey Highball

If you want something classic, a refreshing whiskey highball is what you should aim for. It can be made with any spirit really (but whiskey works best) with soda water combined with citrus and herbs such as lemon, orange, mandarin, rosemary, sage, or mint. Or keep it simple with just whiskey and soda water.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. whiskey of choice
  • 4 oz. soda water
  • Ice
  • Lemon wedge

Preparation:

Add whiskey and soda water to an ice-filled highball glass. Stir and garnish with a lemon wedge.

Daiquiri

Peter James Deluca, Bar Manager at Tavern on the Green in New York City

The best classic cocktail for the summer months is a Daiquiri. It’s a classic cocktail that has been around forever and you can never go wrong with it. It’s simple to make with white rum, lime, and simple syrup. Not only is it easy to make, but it tastes great when done right.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. white rum
  • 1 oz. lime juice
  • .5 oz. simple syrup
  • Ice

Preparation:

Add rum, lime juice, and simple syrup to an ice-filled shaker. Shake vigorously. Strain in a cocktail glass and enjoy.

Margarita

Pedro Pozo, Beverage Director of Grupo Bakan in Miami

In the heat of summer, the margarita is queen. The versatility and variety of flavors in different agaves allow for a very fresh and balanced cocktail. The addition of Cointreau keeps the citrus balance between orange and fresh lime while allowing the vegetable earthy notes of agave to still shine.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. blanco tequila
  • .5 oz. triple sec
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • Ice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Lime wheel garnish

Preparation:

Add tequila, triple sec, a pinch of salt, and lime juice to an ice-filled shaker. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wheel. The salted rim is optional but unnecessary if you add a pinch to the actual cocktail.

Negroni

Jimmy Hleihil, Culinary and Beverage Director at Branja in Miami

My personal favorite summer cocktail is a classic well-made Negroni. The citrusy aromas and the lightness of the gin make this cocktail the perfect way to cool off on a hot day. It is technically a very classic cocktail. The flavor profile makes it explode on the taste buds while being cool enough without compromising the buzz.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. gin
  • 1 oz. Campari
  • 1 oz. sweet red vermouth
  • Ice
  • Orange peel garnish

Preparation:

Add gin, Campari, and vermouth to an ice-filled glass. Stir to combine. Add an orange peel garnish.

Corpse Reviver #2

Mercedes Cowper, Certified Sommelier and Bar Manager at Round Robin Bar in Washington, DC

A Corpse Reviver #2 is a beautiful cocktail on a hot (humid) summer day. The blend of gin, Lillet Blanc, orange liqueur, and lemon gives it a fresh and zesty aroma, while the gin helps ground the flavor profile with herbs and botanicals. Serve very well chilled and double strained for the perfect summer go-to.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. London dry gin
  • 1 oz. Lillet Blanc
  • 1 oz. triple sec
  • 1 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • Dash of absinthe
  • Ice
  • Lemon peel garnish

Preparation:

Add gin, Lillet, triple sec, lemon juice, and absinthe to an ice-filled shaker. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Add a lemon peel for garnish.

Last Word

Megan Anderson, General Manager at Lazia in Kansas City

The best classic cocktail for the summer is the Last Word, which is a gin-based cocktail that is light and refreshing. The Maraschino Liqueur gives it a nice sweetness without making it overly sweet and sour.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. London dry gin
  • .75 oz. fresh lime juice
  • .75 oz. Maraschino Liqueur
  • .75 oz. Green Chartreuse
  • Ice
  • Cherry garnish

Preparation:

Add gin, lime juice, Maraschino Liqueur, and Chartreuse to an ice-filled shaker. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass.

Watching Apple TV+’s ‘Hijack’ Is Like Having A Seven-Episode Panic Attack (In The Best Way)

(Spoilers for Apple TV’s Hijack will be found below.)

Brace! Brace! Brace!

It’s what flight attendants shout when a commercial airplane is about to experience a crash landing. It’s also what anyone watching Hijack is likely whispering to themselves before each episode of the Apple TV+ limited series begins. Because this show? This show, starring Idris Elba as a grizzled and grumpy corporate consultant trying to thwart a hostage situation happening 30,000 feet in the air via scribbled notes on water cartons and in-flight video games? This show is wild. It’s a thrilling zero-sum game of the skies, filled with silly plot twists, two-dimensional characters, and seemingly everything that would make a TV series unwatchable these days.

And yet, it works. It works so damn well that, despite your best intentions, you’ll sink seven hours of your life into finding out if Elba’s Sam Nelson – an acquisitions negotiator with no real military training – can stop a group of proper British thugs from killing 216 passengers aboard a six-hour flight from Dubai to London.

But look, we’re not here to flash our critic credentials, wield some flowery descriptors about narrative arcs and subversive social commentary, and give you the high-brow analysis of why Hijack is the show of the summer. No, we’re shooting straight — unlike the actual hijackers of this story — and zeroing in on the unintentionally hilarious, plot-confoundingly absurd elements of this series that make it so fun to watch.

Idris Elba (In His Divorced Dad Era)

Most TV shows benefit from Idris Elba barking orders and sighing at the stupidity of the people surrounding him. He does that here, swaggering to his flight’s gate like he isn’t seconds away from missing the boarding call, and being such a nosy b*tch that he unintentionally stumbles upon the hijacking attempt before it even happens. He’s a guy carrying a ton of baggage. Not literally of course — he has one carry-on which is simply a Gucci bracelet for an ex-wife who’s clearly moved on. But he’s encumbered with enough emotional cargo to make up for it. He’s an everyman trying to play a hero, electing himself as both a mansplaining mediator and a mutiny starter in this tense, titanium-encased stand-off. He is Harrison Ford In Air Force One, Nic Cage in Con Air, Liam Neeson in Non-Stop, and Rachel f*cking McAdams in Red Eye — all wrapped up in a well-dressed, six-foot-tall package that oozes charm, charisma, and just enough entitlement to convince you that, yes, this guy would totally fly first-class.

A Surprising Amount Of Action

Every great on-screen hostage situation needs a bit of silly action to alleviate — or in this case, ratchet up — the tension. Hijack has those in spades. Early on, after handing back an attacker’s gun in order to curry favor with the criminals, Sam Nelson gets the plane’s pilot kicked out of the cockpit. It’s here you start to wonder — is Idris Elba a bad guy? But no, he’s just laying down the building blocks of his bigger plan, eventually finding a way to communicate with the captain via an in-flight video game filled with pirates and pixelated graphics and gameplayer chats. When a fellow passenger points out that the hostage takers’ guns might be fake, Sam engineers another elaborate scheme, communicating via hand-drawn bullets on cocktail napkins and overhead reading lights to determine if a threat is real. He takes advantage of a co-pilot’s Hungarian ancestry to try to land the plane in a foreign country after simply glimpsing her home country’s flag pinned on her uniform. But he’s not the only one fighting back here.

Within the first two episodes, a pair of Boomers in economy try to bum-rush the sole Arab-speaking hijacker with just some headphone wires and a handful of golf balls stuffed in a crew sock. Another passenger pretends to vomit in the on-flight toilet in order to pass a message to the back of the plane. One uses a pair of cuticle cutters to puncture a man’s lung. The plane’s captain pulverizes his own co-pilot’s face in order to save the life of the flight attendant he’s been having an affair with. The setting may be limited here but the action definitely isn’t.

On The Fly Medical Procedures

Air piracy is a dangerous game and plenty of people end up on the wrong end of a bullet … or a pair of scissors … or a Boeing headset, during Hijack’s run. Most are patched up with some gauze, saran wrap, and recycled ice but one unfortunate hijacker is injured so badly he needs the assistance of television’s favorite medical procedure: a cricothyrotomy. You’ve seen it on Scrubs, Grey’s Anatomy, House, and ER but if you haven’t seen someone use a ballpoint pen to establish an airway at 30,000 feet, you haven’t truly lived.

Insane Plot Twists

What if we told you these hijackers took control of a 747 to crash the stock market? What if we then told you they were acting on the orders of two imprisoned criminals with plans to flee the UK for Africa, millions of dollars richer because of this stunt? And then, what if we revealed that a seemingly innocent middle-aged woman having a panic attack for the first six episodes of this show turned out to be a sleeper agent capable of crashing the plane into a London landmark on the texted whims of these British mafiosos? We won’t spoil everything here — all the shocking deaths, weird, six-degrees-of-separation connections, and completely incompetent police work — but we’ll leave you with this: you’ll never guess where, how, and most importantly, why, this show ends the way it does.

Apple TV’s ‘Hijack’ is currently streaming.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Had A Troubling Reaction To One Of Her Followers Suggesting The ‘Death Penalty’ For Political Opponents

Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s depression didn’t last long.

During a town hall event in Gordon County, Georgia on Tuesday, the conspiracy theorist/lawmaker had a giddy response to one of her constituents suggesting that political opponents (a.k.a. Democrats) should get the death penalty.

“What is the penalty for treason?” someone in the crowd asked during the Q&A session. “OK? We know that treason has been released and nobody is prepared to answer for it. Something has got to be done. It’s treason. Our country, our Constitution has been stomped on repeatedly… People have got to be tried for treason.” As Taylor Greene nodded along, an unseen woman shouted, “And the death penalty!” Instead of shutting down the calls for literal death, MTG laughed and replied, “I think we’re ending on the right note.”

As noted by Medias Touch, “This isn’t the first time Marjorie Taylor Greene was caught affirming calls to execute political opponents. CNN has previously reported that Congresswoman Greene indicated support for executing Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, and FBI agents prior to running for office.” Taylor Greene also laughed when she was told that children were dying of COVID.

‘The Boys’ Is Having A Field Day While Trolling ‘Gen V’s Faux-Innocent Excitement To Run Into Their Hero

There comes a moment in millions of TV viewers’ lives when they decide to give The Boys a shot after hearing word-of-mouth praise from friends, associates, and possibly family. Cue the mouth-opening early moments when the source of Hughie’s ongoing trauma is made clear as an out-of-control A-Train barrels right through his girlfriend during a sidewalk kiss. The message there is loud and unequivocal: this series is not for the faint of heart, and from there, the show never takes its foot off the gas. Somehow, Eric Kripke and pals keep getting away with everything.

Hell, the even got away with a raunchy Season 2 scene that Amazon wouldn’t let them get away with in Season 1. Hopefully, we’ll soon hear more about a Season 4 release date, but at least we will have college-aged spinoff, Gen V, arriving first in September. It promises to be as outrageous as the original, to the point where cast member Patrick Schwarzenegger revealed that his dad, Arnold, had no idea what he was looking at with set photos.

Those younger Supes, however, have yet to realize the ways of their world, and the students at Godolkin University School of Crimefighting seem to be unaware of how A-Train tends to leave a trail of destruction through “happy couples.” They’d love to run into the dude.

Hopefully, the “God U” students are simply messing with us and aren’t quite that clueless. Still, The Boys Twitter account couldn’t resist trolling them: “Young lads still got so much to learn.”

Amazon’s Gen V will premiere on September 29.

Mark Ronson Clapped Back At Bill Maher, Who Called The ‘Barbie’ Movie ‘Preachy’ And ‘Man-Hating’ In A Widely Panned Review

So many people like the Barbie movie that it just surpassed $1 billion in box office earnings. There are still haters, though, like Ben Shapiro and Bill Maher, the latter of whom just shared a widely-panned review of the movie. His tweet about the film begins, “OK, ‘Barbie’: I was hoping it wouldn’t be preachy, man-hating, and a #ZombieLie – alas, it was all three. What is a Zombie Lie? Something that never was true, but certain people refuse to stop saying it (tax cuts for the rich increase revenues, e.g.); OR something that USED to be true but no longer is, but certain people pretend it’s still true. ‘Barbie’ is this kind of #ZombieLie.”

He goes on to address the movie’s depiction of Mattel’s board, and Mark Ronson (who oversaw the Barbie soundtrack) used that to poke fun at Maher. In response to the review, Ronson tweeted last night (August 8), “We come to this place for magic. We come to AMC theaters to laugh, to cry, to care… and to furiously google ‘mattel board configuration’ while others are trying to enjoy a f***king magnificent comedy”

Find Maher’s full review below.

“OK, ‘Barbie’: I was hoping it wouldn’t be preachy, man-hating, and a #ZombieLie – alas, it was all three. What is a Zombie Lie? Something that never was true, but certain people refuse to stop saying it (tax cuts for the rich increase revenues, e.g.); OR something that USED to be true but no longer is, but certain people pretend it’s still true. ‘Barbie’ is this kind of #ZombieLie.

Spoiler alert, Barbie fights the Patriarchy. Right up to the Mattel board who created her, consisting of 12 white men! The Patriarchy! Except there’s a Mattel board in real life, and it’s 7 men and 5 women. OK, not perfect even-steven, but not the way the board IN THE MOVIE – which takes place in 2023 – is portrayed. And not really any longer deserving of the word ‘patriarchy.’ Yes, there was one, and remnants of it remain – but this movie is so 2000-LATE.

At one point the Barbies have to win over the Kens, and they are told to do it by pretending to act helpless and not know how to do stuff. Helen Gurley Brown called, she wants her premise back. Yes, that WAS a thing. I saw ‘Barbie’ with a woman in her 30s who said, ‘I don’t know a single woman of any age who would act like that today.’

I know, I know, ‘How could I know about the patriarchy, I AM a man!’ That argument is so old and so silly. Of course, none of us can know exactly what others go through life, but I can see the world around me, and I can read data. The real Mattel board is a pretty close mirror of the country, where 45% of the 449 board seats filled last year in Fortune 500 companies were women. Truth is, I’m not the one who’s out of step – I’m living in the year we’re living in. Barbie is fun, I enjoyed it – but it IS a #ZombieLie. And people who don’t go along with zombie lies did not take some red pill – just staying true to CURRENT reality. Let’s live in the year we’re living in! Hi Ken!!! #BarbieMovie.”

Pet mom narrates her cat and dog’s fights like it’s an actual cage match and it’s spot on

Sure, the internet is chock-full of videos showing sweet, charming friendships between animals. You know—tiny kittens nestled up in the fur of a Saint Bernard, a cheetah who pals around with a chihuahua, that sort of thing.

But let’s be real, there’s a reason why the phrase “fighting like cats and dogs” exists.

No one knows this reason better than Meg, a pet mom who has taken to narrating the scuffles between her cat (Maris) and dog (Mickey) like it’s a real match.

The best part is Meg’s creativity with naming the moves. Like in the video below, where Maris apparently “bamboozles” Mickey with some “diabolical sideways skiddily daps.”

That’s right. Skiddily daps. Please let this word be accepted Merriam Webster.

Watch:

@mickeymarisandmeg Replying to @gourdfarmer in which we see a sideways skiddily dap and a very underwhelming butt fluff trophy #labradorretriever #fightclub #dogsoftiktok #catsoftiktok #capcut #animals ♬ Bops Goin Brazy – Tyga

Unlike most of their brawls, this one was more a non-verbal fight, and named Maris as the very lazy victor. With an underwhelming “butt fluff trophy” in her claws, Maris was reminded that “battles can be won lying down.”

Don’t worry, this next skirmish over the coveted futon packs a bit more of a punch.

Ever the instigator, Maris starts off with s sassy muzzle nudge to suggest a thrown was imminent. Then cue a stunning display of impressive moves between both competitors, including, a hindquarter sniff banned in “46 countries worldwide,” a “2 pawed forklift”, a “stoic tripod” that moves into a “hippity hop”…and yes, more skiddlily daps.

Who will win? Watch to find out.

@mickeymarisandmeg the fight for the futon rages on and we see a beautiful rendition of the stoic tripod and two-pawed forklift. #fightclub #petsoftiktok #catsoftiktok #capcut #fypシ #dogsoftiktok #bestfriend ♬ original sound – Mickey, Maris & Meg

Okay, so this fight ended in a draw (lame technicalities!) but both Mickey and Maris the hearts of millions online. With animals, there’s always some kind of wholesome entertainment to be had.
