‘Barry’ Star Anthony Carrigan Seemingly Confirms That The HBO Show Will End After One More Season

HBO’s Barry, one of the best (and darkest and most thrilling and many other superlatives) shows on TV, is coming to an end after one more season. That’s according to NoHo Hank actor Anthony Carrigan on the Hollywood at Home with the Creative Coalition podcast. As caught by the fittingly-named Twitter user scary noho hank, the Emmy nominee was asked, “This isn’t the final season, is it?” He replied, “Yeah, it is.”

There’s no official confirmation about season four being it for Barry, but creator and star Bill Hader did tease to Vulture that there’s more story to tell — although not too much story. When asked whether he considered killing Barry in the season three finale (instead, he’s arrested), Hader replied, “Well dying, the story’s over, and I thought there was more story. There’s only so long a guy can get away with this.” He continued:

“I know I feel watching shows sometimes, ‘They’re trying to keep the thing going and now it’s getting ridiculous to keep the thing going.’ And so, I think he would get caught. He’s not Jason Bourne or Walter White. He’s not a genius. He’s a very dumb guy. And it made sense, the idea of Gene Cousineau wanting justice for Janice and then getting it by the end, but he has to go through a transformation himself to get it.”

Barry being over: bad. Henry Winkler having more time for fish pics: good.

How eating organically really does save the planet

When I was a kid, I loved picking blackberries. I spent hours in the scalding hot sun pulling the fattest ones off the bushes and collecting them in a bucket, careful to avoid the thorns.

My dad trained me to watch for snakes, because they like blackberries too, and my mom taught me how to turn those berries into mouth watering blackberry cobbler.

If I was feeling brave, I’d accompany my dad to the big lake in the woods behind our house, where he’d hang out for hours fishing for freshwater bass. I was fascinated by the way the hook caught in their wide mouths as they twisted on the line. When he’d caught enough, we—and by that I definitely mean he—moved on to the next stage: fileting their scaly bodies with an electric knife, and prepping the meat for frying.

I didn’t realize until many years later that I was raised on a mostly organic diet, which kind of blew my mind since we were a blue-collar family living in one of the poorest parts of the state. Exactly zero members of my household knew how to recycle, and even if we did, our neck of the woods certainly didn’t offer recycling bins. I had never even heard the word “organic” until I was much older; after all, aren’t organic foods mostly for the wealthy upper class? In the words of my daddy, “that ain’t us.”

Or was it? When I really think about it, I remember eating green beans and tomatoes straight from the garden, and pecan pie made from the nuts that fell from grandma’s pecan trees. Even now, I have several friends with egg-laying chickens and a neighbor who makes homemade jam, salsa, and pickles.

Come to think of it, I was eating organic way before it was cool.

Organic foods are much more affordable than one might think. Even if you aren’t lucky enough to have friends or family who share their farm-fresh eggs, chances are high that there’s an Albertsons grocery store in your area. As a commitment to offer accessible, high-quality items for every budget, Albertsons seeks to make eating organic affordable for everyone. Its line of O Organics® products, offers an extensive array of high-quality, USDA Certified Organic grocery items – but what does that actually mean?

In 2000, The U.S. Department of Agriculture officially defined the term “organic” to mean that farmers do not use any form of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides to grow their produce. This method of food production is widely considered to be a far more sustainable alternative when it comes to farming. Not only is it substantially better for our bodies, but the environment as well. When it comes to meat and dairy products, the USDA Organic regulations prohibit the use of all hormones and antibiotics and require that animals be fed one hundred percent organic feed, free of animal byproducts and growth hormones, have access to the outdoors, and that producers meet animal health and welfare standards.

According to an article published by Columbia University, the lack of pesticides and a wider variety of plants on an organic farm enhances biodiversity and results in better soil quality and reduced pollution from fertilizer or pesticide run-off. When biodiversity is maintained, it allows species and organisms to work together in ecosystems, like an intricate web, to maintain balance and support life. This is how supporting organic farming helps all of us save the planet.

The gradual shift towards organic farming and consumption over recent years is due in large part to rising consumer concerns about the health impacts of unknowingly consuming pesticides and chemical fertilizers (yum, arsenic!).

While it might sound daunting, Albertsons makes eating organic really easy. O Organics® products are USDA Certified Organic, and certified delicious. They are made responsibly and safely. They are always Non-GMO, grown without synthetic pesticides, and easy to catch on sale through the Albertsons app or in the weekly ad. And although I do sometimes miss picking berries directly from the bush, it’s a whole lot easier to pop in and grab a container of them.

Shop O Organics only at your local Albertsons or one of their sister stores— Safeway, Vons, ACME, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, Star Market, Tom Thumb, Randalls or Pavilions!

Drake Made Quite The Splash As 21 Savage’s Guest For Morehouse And Spelman’s Homecoming Show

Fans at 21 Savage‘s Morehouse-Spelman homecoming concert were lucky — the rapper brought out none other than Drake to give their collaborative No. 1 song “Jimmy Cooks” its first-ever live performance.

“Along with OVO, I really live this 4L sh*t,” Drake said. “By the way, I didn’t get invited to this show. Nobody from Morehouse asked me to perform. My brother brought me here, so make some noise for 21 Savage.” The crowd predictably went crazy, and everyone put their phones up to capture the moment.

After releasing Honestly, Nevermind earlier this year, Drake said he had more plans for 2022. “Me and Kenzo have a book coming out this year,” he said on his radio show on SiriusXM, Table For One. “Yeah, we have a book coming out this year, a poetry book. So I hope you guys tune into that, too, because that’s going to be some sh*t.” He continued, “I got another Scary Hours pack coming, too, in a little bit. Maybe not, like [laughs]… maybe not right now; I need you to just take this [Honestly, Nevermind] in right now. But I have a Scary Hours, I’m gonna slap some head tops off with a Scary Hours pack.”

‘House Of The Dragon’ Fans Have Plenty Of Predictions And Theories For The Season Finale

(House of the Dragon spoilers will be found below.)

Let’s be honest here: few people who watched the whole of Game of Thrones (particularly that out-there-yet-still-underwhelming final season and the aesthetically-stunning-but-wtf series finale) held out a ton of hope that House of the Dragon would be good. Yet HBO sure showed us who’s boss in the realm of putting George R.R. Martin lore to the screen. They’re knocking this prequel series out of the figurative ballpark, and it’s almost upsetting to think that this first season’s almost over, and we’ll have to wait at least a year (and maybe two) for more. Could we also see that Jon Snow show soon?

The first season finale is nearly upon us, and that leaves the Internet with plenty of motivation to start theorizing into infinity. This opportunity arises following this year’s penultimate installment, which saw Aegon Targaryen anointed as king. He didn’t want this to happen, but they he heard cheers and liked the approval for a few seconds before the probable “beast beneath the boards” (the dragon Meleys) rose through the floor with a disapproving Rhaenys onboard. She let the Greens live (because we don’t want this story to be over yet, among other reasons theorized by viewers), and now, George R.R. Martin’s Dance of the Dragons has begun with Team Black vs. Team Green. Boy, Rhaenyra’s gotta be pissed off.

So, what will happen in the season finale? Few people know for sure, but here are a handful of the more captivating theories and predictions. Sadly, none of these involve Zombie Viserys or more foot-fetishing antics from Larys Strong. I still maintain that if Rhaenys had set Aegon ablaze, then people would have still tuned in to watch Daemon happily collect dragon eggs for three more seasons. We can’t have that, though, so here’s those theories as well as the Episode 10 trailer for reference’s sake:

– Which Dragon was Daemon hoping to tame by singing?

House of the Dragon
HBO

I know the screencap from the above trailer isn’t fantastic. The creative minds wanted it that way. Still, this is a huge question: Daemon already has a dragon (Ceraxes), so which fiery beast is he hoping to tame in the season finale? According to a very intensive discussion on Reddit, it’s notable that Daemon’s High Valyrian singing follows this line: “Your cause holds a power that has not been seen since the days of Old Valyria.” This dragon’s large, although not as big as Vhagar (who’s Team Green due to Aemond being Vhagar’s rider). Fans appear to believe that this is the Cannibal, given his apparent advanced age and utterly vicious appearance that borders on feral. However, one wonders if the source material’s wild dragons would appear this early on in the series, although this wouldn’t be the first time that this HBO universe added to existing canon. Other sizable nominees include Vermithor and Sheespstealer, but it seems fairly obvious that Daemon’s looking for a new ride for this war, given that we already saw (while Daemon rode alongside his then wife, Laena Valaryon) how small Ceraxes is in comparison to Vhagar. Let’s hope that the smaller dragon isn’t too terribly sad, and we should probably prepare ourselves for intense battle scenes.

– Rhaenys bursting through the floor helps to sets up the Storming of the Dragonpit: This means the end of the dragons. Obviously, we see more dragons later in Game of Thrones with Dany being the Mother of Dragons, but work with me here. According to GRRM lore, the Targaryen civil war doesn’t bode well for civilians in King’s Landing. They’re starving and full of resentment, and The Shepherd prophet harnesses this angst and convinces the people that dragons are evil. As such, the civilians burst into the Dragonpit and killed the dragons chained inside. One dragon survived, but that’s beside the point because (as Redditors point out) Rhaenys’ clear disregard for civilian life (she killed a bunch of them by bursting through the floor) could feed that resentment, contributing to the demise of Targaryen power. Although it seems that Rhaenyrs (from the looks of the Episode 10 trailer) wanted to foster peace instead of war, she could paradoxically be a primary cause of the common folk feeling justified in killing the dragons and, in turn, sparking the downfall of the Targaryen dynasty.

– Did the Maisters plot the Targaryen downfall and the civil war? We likely won’t receive the answer this question in the season finale, but you never know. This theory posits that the Maisters conspired to kill the only male heir of Viserys at the beginning, which also led to Aemma’s death and then pushed Viserys to choose a new wife, who ended up being Alicent Hightower. For whatever reason, Viserys chose to consult a Maister (instead of a healer) while fearing another difficult birth for Aemma. The Maister advised that Viserys needed to make that difficult choice (to the visible horror of the midwives), which ended up being the brutal procedure that killed Aemma. The end result was to integrate the Hightowers into the family, leading to a much weaker House of Targaryen. And in turn (according to Paddy Considine), Aemma’s death also led to the physical decline and death of the king.

– Did the White Worm survive? Mysaria may have lost her house to fire (via Alicent’s orders), but it’s almost certain that she will live. The show has expended quite a bit of energy parceling out her motivations (as a former sex worker and slave) and having her push Otto for a deal to fix what’s happening to those who lives in Flea Bottom. She’s also (if one reads into Larys’ masturbatory words to Alicent) apparently indispensable to running the network of spies that hangs at the Red Keep. This whole subplot can’t simply disappear, so get ready for more of her unusual (for Westeros) accent and for her to help push for common folk to receive better treatment. Also, we could see Mysaria join with Team Black (she does have a history with Daemon, so it could get awkward).

– Aemond might actually be the father of Aegon’s presumed children: This seems a little nitpicky and perhaps ultimately not too consequential, but it’s still fun to consider that Helaena Targaryen might be cucking her lousy brother-husband (who is out there committing rape and more). As Den of Geek notes, Twitter user by the handle of @darklesdarling posed this theory, in which Halaena’s young twins were essentially rattling on about “Aemond” when Alicent and Otto were searching for Aegon.

HBO’s House of the Dragon airs on Sundays at 9:00pm EST.

Kim Kardashian Had A ‘Creepy’ Request For Her Mom’s, Uh, Bones

Spooky season is here, and Kim Kardashian is in a “creepy” mood.

On last week’s episode of The Kardashians, Kim revealed that she had sex with ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson in front of a fireplace as a “tribute” to her grandmother. “But how creepy to think about your grandma before you have sex?” she acknowledged. The “creepy” word came up again during this week episode’s of the Hulu series. Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, told the cameras that her daughter made jewelry using her bones.

While laid up in bed following hip replacement surgery, Jenner said, “Kim asked the doctor to save her my bones so she can make jewelry out of it. It’s creepy.” Her other daughter, Kylie, agreed over the phone, saying, “That is weird.” (No, this is Weird.)

Despite not being particularly keen on the idea of Kim making jewelry from her bones, Jenner was more into the idea of dividing her ashes after her death and cremation, turning them into necklaces for her children. “That’s weird,” Khloé said. “No, it’s not,” Jenner replied.

Insider also reports that Kim has a “tradition” in which she threatens the doctors who work on her family members “with their lives,” which isn’t creepy. But it is deeply, deeply weird. Even more than turning your mom’s hip into a necklace, or whatever.

Young Fathers Announce The New Album ‘Heavy Heavy’ And Share The Cathartic And Turbulent ‘I Saw’

Nearly five years after the release of the divinely explosive Cocoa Sugar, Mercury Prize-winning Scottish trio Young Fathers will be back with a new album. The band announced today that their fourth album, Heavy Heavy, is due out on February 3rd of next year and Kayus Bankole, Alloysious Massaquoi, and G. Hastings made it all in a sheltered state in a basement studio where they took a, “Let the demons out and deal with it,” approach, Bankole says. “Make sense of it after.”

Along with the announcement, they’ve released the album’s second single, “I Saw.” It’s furious, cultish bravado is in contrast to the slow-burning pace of the emotive “Geronimo,” which came out in July and is nothing short of one of the best songs of 2022.

The video for “I Saw” was directed by David Uzochukwu and pits the music to a carnal, contortionist, and sometimes grotesque fireside seance on the beach. It aptly speaks to the sentiment of the song, which the band describes as, “A big bully with sh*te down their leg, still swaggering. That pamphlet through your door blaming the establishment and immigrants for everything going wrong. The stench of long-dead empire, trudging along, a psychological hammer to your head in every step. The delusion.”

Watch the video for “I Saw” above and check out the album artwork and tracklist for Heavy Heavy below.

Damion Lee’s Falling Game-Winner Capped Off A 22-Point Comeback By The Suns Over The Mavs

Five months ago the Dallas Mavericks went into Phoenix and ended the Suns season in shocking fashion, dismantling the 1-seed in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals in a 33-point win.

That sparked what was a rather dismal offseason for the Suns, with the most notable on-court storyline being Deandre Ayton’s future, with them unable to find a sign-and-trade for the young star center (who was benched in that Game 7) and ultimately matching an offer sheet on him. Because the NBA loves a good mess, they set the Suns up for a chance at redemption or mockery in their opener on Wednesday night by sending those same Mavs to Phoenix to start the season.

In the first half, it looked like we were headed for yet another blowout win by Dallas, as Luka Doncic (35 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists) and Christian Wood (25 points, 8 rebounds) torched the Suns, leading by 17 at the half and as many as 22 early in the third quarter. However, the Suns would show some fight this time around, led by Devin Booker’s 28-point night and a second half surge from Ayton, who finished with 18 points and 10 boards, and finished off by an unlikely source.

The Suns would claw their way back into the game, despite the best efforts of Wood who at one point in the fourth scored 16 consecutive points for the Mavs before heading to the bench for a spell, despite Chris Paul and Cam Johnson sitting down the stretch in the fourth. Cam Payne and Damion Lee took their places and the latter put forth some heroics, scoring 11 points (all in the fourth) including the game-winner on a ridiculous falling away shot on the baseline.

Doncic, who had just tied the game driving to the paint for an and-1, did not try to get downhill again and left a deep stepback three to win short off the rim, giving the Suns a wild comeback win that will raise spirits considerably in Phoenix and be a tough pill to swallow in Dallas.

The Mavs will still be pleased with what Wood showed in his debut, but losing that game is brutal given the lead they held and how dominant they appeared. For Phoenix, what would’ve been a loss that sparked a million thinkpieces on the end of the Suns as we know them became a gutty win that shows a resilience from this team we haven’t seen since their Finals run and puts to rest, at least for a bit, the questions of whether this group has run its course together.

‘The Crown’ Won’t Even Film A Recreation Of Princess Diana’s Fatal Car Crash

According to Deadline, Netflix’s The Crown will not film a version of Princess Diana’s fatal car crash for the episode that deals with her death.

“We’ve been dreading getting to this point. The countdown is two weeks and while we’re calmly carrying on it’s fair to acknowledge that there’s a certain anxiety; a palpable sense of being slightly on edge. I mean, there’s bombshell sensitivity surrounding this one,” a source on the production said.

The series is currently filming its sixth season, which includes Princess Diana’s (Elizabeth Debicki) death. Not filming the crash is a no-brainer in an era where no-brainers are something a production might consider, so the production is wise both to leave it out altogether and to inform potentially concerned fans about their intentions. Instead, viewers will see a before and after.

“It’s the run-up: the car leaving The Ritz after midnight with paparazzi in pursuit and then the aftermath with the British Ambassador to France swinging into action with the Foreign Office and then the subsequent constitutional aftermath,” the source said.

While avoiding the ghoulish act of filming such a recreation, the production will still have to navigate the murky waters of how they portray Prince Charles (now King Charles III) in the sixth season leading up to and after Princess Diana’s death. Or if they can earn Dame Judi Dench’s viewership ever again.

The fifth season of The Crown hits Netflix November 9th.

‘The People We Hate At The Wedding’ Trailer Turns Nuptials Into The Bad Place

Grant Ginder’s uproarious novel about a family falling even further apart during the oldest sibling’s wedding has finally gotten an adaptation, and the trailer looks glorious. The People We Hate At The Wedding feels slightly conventional here, but the promise is something to fill a Thanksgiving family dinner with gasps and dropped jaws. That goes double for if they follow the novel hand-in-hand.

Here’s the official synopsis from Prime Video:

“In the hilariously raunchy comedy The People We Hate at the Wedding, dysfunctional American siblings Alice (Kristen Bell) and Paul (Ben Platt) along with their ever-optimistic mom (Allison Janney), are invited to the British wedding of their estranged half-sister Eloise (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) as a chance for them to reconnect as – more or less – adults, and learn to love each other like they once did.”

Everyone looks fantastic here. Platt appears appropriately put out at every turn, Janney cloying and wry, and Kristen Bell dancing in an American flag bikini while cruising in a hot tub down the Thames gives off some serious Eleanor Shellstrop vibes.

Oh, and Dustin Milligan drops in with the same handsome softy act he perfected on Schitt’s Creek. This really is a strong cast of fun people gearing up to be ridiculous.

Directed by Claire Scanlon (Set it Up), the screenplay comes from sibling writing team Wendy and Lizzie Molyneux, best known for Bob’s Burgers. It looks like it earns the R-rating while remaining upbeat and sarcastically hopeful for every dysfunctional crew. The People We Hate at the Wedding hits Prime Video on November 18th.

Lana Del Rey’s Backpack Was Stolen, Including Her Computer, Camcorders, And Hard Drives With New Music

Lana Del Rey has been churning out albums excessively within recent years, with Chemtrails Over The Country Club, Blue Banisters, and Norman F*cking Rockwell. She even published a poetry book while she was at it. The singer was planning on not slowing down, but now she might have to due to her recent confession that her things have been stolen.

The pop star posted a video on her private Instagram, @honeymoon, talking to her phone camera. “So I want to talk to you guys about something for a minute,” she starts off. “A few months ago, I parked my car on Melrose Place and I stepped away for a minute and the one time I left my backpack inside my car someone broke all of the windows and took it. Inside of it was my computer and my three camcorders and my hard drives. I had to remotely wipe the computer that had my 200-page book for Simon & Schuster which I didn’t have backed up on the Cloud because we do not have any Cloud systems that we access.”

She continued, “Despite that, people are still able this week to remotely access my phone and leak our songs and personal photos. I just want to mention that despite all of this happening, I am confident in the record to come. And despite so many safety factors in so many different levels, I really want to persist and make the best art I can.”
