Nickelodeon Will Get Back Into The NFL Game With A Collection Of Super Bowl Programming

One of the more pleasant surprises of 2021 so far came when Nickelodeon got its own broadcast of the NFL playoff game between the New Orleans Saints and the Chicago Bears. The Saints came out on top, but the big story of the broadcast was that Nickelodeon did such a good job that people actively sought it out and wanted to see this happen again.

The bad news is that we’re not getting a full-blown Nickelodeon Super Bowl broadcast on Sunday, but we are going to get some fun stuff from the network in the lead-up to the showdown between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Starting on Friday evening at 8 p.m. EST, Nickelodeon will air a preview show called the Nickelodeon Super Duper Super Bowl Pregame Spectacular, hosted by Gabrielle Nevaeh Green and Lex Lumpkin, both of whom were major parts of the game broadcast earlier in the year. Per a release, “the show will feature Super Bowl fun facts, ‘Nick-ified’ season highlights and predictions of this year’s winning team with help from special guests.”

The rest of the weekend will include a handful of Nick-inspired ways to cover the game. CBS’ Super Bowl pregame show will include a Nickelodeon segment with Green and Lumpkin, while CBS Sports Network will air a number of highlights from the first half of the game that get the Nick treatment as presented by Nate Burleson, whose appearance in the booth during the Saints-Bears broadcast drew plenty of praise.

Perhaps we’ll get a full Nickelodeon version of the Super Bowl the next time CBS has broadcast rights for the game. In the meantime, we have this, and hopefully whomever wins the game’s MVP award can get covered in slime or something.

Finneas Reveals That Billie Eilish’s Sophomore Album Is ‘Almost Done’

Billie Eilish has not been secretive about the status of her highly-anticipated sophomore album. The singer recently teased a tracklist on her social media, pointing to an album that’s a few tracks longer than her debut. While she has yet to share when the record is expected to be released, her brother/producer Finneas has just revealed that they’re close to being finished.

Finneas sat down with James Corden on The Late Late Show to talk about his music and his work on Eilish’s impending release. Talking about how the album is “almost done,” Finneas said:

“She’s said it, so I’m not spilling the beans for her, but we are working really hard on her second album. It’s actually almost done, which we’re really excited about. She’s the only person I’ve worked with in-person in the whole year. So everything else has been over Zoom. Someone will send me a vocal of theirs, I’ll produce it and send it back to them. So, it’s all been this virtual world of that. But Billie and I have actually been holed up working together.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Finneas discussed the time he and Eilish performed at Jared Leto’s house before they had experienced their breakout moment: “I remember it very clearly, I was very nervous. It was May of 2017 and Jared is one of those dudes who is very aware of what’s going on. He’s very early, he’s an early adopter of everything. He’s one of those dues where, anytime you are just discovering something, he’s like, ‘I’ve been investigating this for five years.’ […] We went a little bit early to set up our stuff, which at the time was toys — basically legos. We went to his house, which is like a set from a Stanley Kubrick film. You can’t quite imagine how anyone is ever cozy there. It’s definitely haunted. It’s one of those houses that absolutely has ghosts in it. But he’s always been very generous to the two of us, given us great advice.

Indie Mixtape 20: Aaron Lee Tasjan Loves Watching Turner Classic Movies

On his fourth full-length effort, Aaron Lee Tasjan evokes the folk and psychedelic sounds of yesteryear, with a unique modern twist. Tasjan’s approach is informed by a chameleonic career in music, from a distant glam rock past (he was once told by Jimmy Iovine that “guys in make-up don’t sell records”) to having a then-unknown Lady Gaga open a New York show for his band. On Tasjan Tasjan Tasjan, the songwriter embodies all of these different phases of his musical life.

Today, we’re happy to give an exclusive look at the new song “Another Lonely Day,” the latest single from the album, and one that epitomizes the shimmering psychedelia that Tasjan made his name on, but with a fine-tuned modern melodic sensibility that solidifies the strengths of his songwriting. Check it out below.

To celebrate the new song and album, Tasjan sat down to talk Nina Simone, Dublin, and The Departed in the latest Indie Mixtape 20 Q&A.

What are four words you would use to describe your music?
Sparkling, hazy, proletarian & opulent.

It’s 2050 and the world hasn’t ended and people are still listening to your music. How would you like it to be remembered?

As a sample in a late period Phoebe Bridgers masterpiece.

What’s your favorite city in the world to perform?

Really wish I could say Dublin but I’ve never played there.

Who’s the person who has most inspired your work, and why?

John Cooper Clarke is one of many. Never combed his hair, always looked fantastic.

Where did you eat the best meal of your life?

Sir Patrick Stewart and his wonderful and talented wife Sunny Ozell (lovely singer) took my manager and me to dinner in London once. We had all played a role in the Americana UK Awards presentation earlier that evening. Everyone’s outfit was phenomenal.

What album do you know every word to?

East Nashville Skyline by Todd Snider.

What was the best concert you’ve ever attended?

Dave Frishberg & Bob Dorough at the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles, CA.

What is the best outfit for performing and why?

If it’s in the city, anything from Urban Outfitters. If it’s at bedtime, anything from Sleep Outfitters.

Who’s your favorite person to follow on Twitter and/or Instagram?

Twitter is for talking but not listening. Instagram is picturesque gone grotesque. But if you must, I like Isbell on Twitter (the replies section is endless entertainment) and Lilly Hiatt on Instagram.

What’s your most frequently played song in the van on tour?

There really isn’t one. We talk a lot and read, too.

What’s the last thing you Googled?

Spelling of the word grotesque.

What album makes for the perfect gift?

Any Nina Simone album.

Where’s the weirdest place you’ve ever crashed while on tour?

Never crashed. Ran out of gas a few times though. Always while driving down the freeway.

What’s the story behind your first or favorite tattoo?

It’s a picture of a nude Marilyn Monroe with my former bandmates face superimposed on her body. Why on earth would I ever get another one?

What artists keep you from flipping the channel on the radio?

I only listen to the radio when I’m home. We have incredible stations here in Nashville that play great music. Lightning 100, WMOT, WXNA and now WXPN, too. No need to flip from any of those.

What’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?

Ken Rockwood (Rockwood Music Hall) gave me a 1969 Gibson ES335 after he heard my guitar was stolen at SXSW. Still blows me away.

What’s one piece of advice you’d go back in time to give to your 18-year-old self?

You will find your sound and style through a series of adventures you wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. Let it all go and enjoy!

What’s the last show you went to?

To Nashville With Love. The benefit for the Nashville tornado that was organized by Yola and included some truly incredible performances at Marathon Music Works here in Nashville.

What movie can you not resist watching when it’s on TV?

The Departed although I tend to just go straight to Turner Classic Movies. They’re always playing something I like. My Grandmother turned me on to it years ago.

What would you cook if Obama were coming to your house for dinner?

I’ve never seen him eat, but he looks like he eats lean. Maybe something special since it’s a big night? Chicago style pizza (no idea how to make this) or a Chicago style hotdog (also completely in the dark on how to make one of these.) Clearly, I’d have to ask!

Tasjan Tasjan Tasjan is out February 5 on New West. Pre-order it here. To celebrate the release will be a virtual performance on January 31, broadcast live on both Lightning 100 and on Nugs.tv. More info here.

Eric Trump Actually Proclaimed His Dad The ‘Most Beloved Political Figure’ In U.S. History With A Straight Face

Donald Trump ended his presidency with a 34 percent approval rating, an all-time low for an exiting president. For the sake of comparison, Barack Obama left office with a 59 percent rating. Trump averaged a 41 percent rating for his four-year term, four points lower than any president in the Gallup polling-era, which began in 1938. He also “is the only president since polling began with [Franklin D.] Roosevelt not to receive more than 50 percent of support from Americans at any point in his presidency.” That’s probably not what he meant when he said “America First.” But despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary (it’s never stopped the family before), Donald’s son Eric insists that his dad is the most “beloved political figure in our country’s history.” He even did it with a straight face!

On Tuesday, Eric Trump dropped by Sean Hannity’s Fox News show to talk about how great his father is. “They tried to manufacture everything under the sun against my father, against all of us. They do it every single day. They continue to do it. Even when he’s a private citizen, they’re still trying to impeach him,” he said, obviously not understanding how impeachment works. Trump added that “they” (presumably the Democrats) want to “tar and feather the man. They know he did a great job for this nation. They know that there’s never been a more beloved political figure in our country’s history.”

I think Mayor Wilbur the French Bulldog might disagree.

Trump ended his interview by claiming that “what my father did is something that no political figure has ever done in American history,” which is the only accurate thing he said.

Julien Baker Reunites With The Boygenius Crew For The Shuffling Track ‘Favor’

Back in 2018, Julien Baker teamed up with her friends and indie music contemporaries Lucy Dacus and Phoebe Bridgers to form the powerhouse trio Boygenius. The three released a self-titled EP together and have since shelved the project before briefly reuniting to collaborate with Hayley Williams. Now, Dacus and Bridgers have joined Baker once again to offer backup vocals on the track “Favor.”

“Favor” features Baker singing reflective verses over a shuffling beat. The song arrives on Baker’s upcoming album Little Oblivions, which she has previewed with the captivating tracks “Faith Healer” and “Hardline.”

About her work on “Favor,” Dacus described their chemistry as a songwriting trio:

“We sang on ‘Favor’ in Nashville the same day we recorded vocals for ‘Graceland Too’ and a song of mine. That day had the same atmosphere as when we recorded the boygenius EP. Making music was just a natural result of being together, easy as can be but also rare in a way that feels irreplicable. I love the song for its stark but sensitive picture of friendship, what it looks like to recover from broken trust. Makes me think about how truth only ever breaks what should be broken, and how love is never one of those things. I’m always honored to be brought into Julien’s life and music.”

Echoing Dacus’ statement, Bridgers added: “Julien is one of those people whose opinion you want to hear about everything. A true critical thinker with an ever-changing and ridiculously articulate worldview. Her music changes in the same way, and this record is my favorite thing she’s ever done. I’m sure I’ll think the same about the next one.”

Little Oblivions is out 2/26 via Matador. Pre-order it here.

Jason Alexander Endorsed This ‘Brilliant’ ‘Seinfeld’ Reunion In The Style Of ‘Twin Peaks’

Jerry Seinfeld has said there will never be a Seinfeld reunion, and unlike the Friends reunion that was also supposed to never happen (a special is close enough), I believe him. “I don’t like seeing old people on TV,” Seinfeld explained to Howard Stern last year. “I don’t want to inflict myself on people in a deteriorated state… I am a perfectionist that way. That’s why obviously I didn’t do another TV series. I’m not gonna try and beat that.”

But if Seinfeld does ever come back, it should look exactly like Seinfeld: The Reunion.

For years, video editor Dom Nero has been imagining if the cast of Seinfeld got back together for a Twin Peaks: The Return-style limited series. He’s finally put it all together in one YouTube video. “What if they did a revival of Seinfeld? Like not just a reunion, but a whole prestige TV revival, like Showtime did with Twin Peaks? It’ll never happen, but I really needed a quarantine project, so I tried to imagine one myself,” he tweeted. Basically, it would look weird as hell, with long static shots, the Soup Nazi waiting on a coughing panda, and Kramer’s The Merv Griffin Show set being depicted as the Black Lodge, complete with backwards talking. Also, Jerry is dead. R.I.P. Jerry.

Seinfeld: The Return received an endorsement from Can’t-Stand-Ya himself, Jason Alexander, who tweeted, “Well, I have to say David Lynch has nothing on this guy. This is kinda brilliant. Twisted, but brilliant.” If only this had been Lynch’s big announcement.

Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Sia, And ‘Hamilton’ Earned 2021 Golden Globe Award Nominations

The 2021 Golden Globe Awards nominees were announced this morning, and while the finest in movies and TV were honored, some music folks found their way into the conversation as well.

The composing duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, for instance, earned a pair of nominations in the Best Original Score – Motion Picture category, for their work on Mank and Soul, the latter of which they worked on with John Batiste.

Meanwhile, Music — which Sia directed, co-wrote, and co-produced — is nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical Or Comedy, and Kate Hudson’s work in the film earned her a nod in the Best Performance By An Actress In A Motion Picture – Musical Or Comedy category. As a Sia fan account notes, this makes Sia just the second female musician to be nominated in this category and the first in nearly 40 years: Barbra Streisand won in 1984 for Yentil, which she directed, co-wrote, co-produced, and starred in.

Hamilton managed to pick up a couple of nominations as well: It’s going up against Music for Best Motion Picture – Musical Or Comedy, while Lin-Manuel Miranda is up for Best Performance By An Actor In A Motion Picture – Musical Or Comedy.

The 78th Golden Globe Awards air on February 28, but in the meantime, find the full list of this year’s Golden Globe nominees here.

Viggo Mortensen On His Directorial Debut, ‘Falling,’ His Past Roles In Movies You Probably Forgot About, And Working With David Cronenberg Again

Viggo Mortensen’s career path is pretty interesting, in that by the time he did The Lord of the Rings movies that made him an international star, he was already over 40. Now, this is interesting because Mortensen was in a lot of movies before The Lord of the Rings, which means there’s a good chance you can be watching any random ’90s movie and he might just show up. Almost like he traveled back in time and inserted himself in there. Since the pandemic started, with people watching all different sorts of movies, there’s a good chance this happened to you. Because it happened to me twice, with both Young Guns II and the Sylvester Stallone vehicle, Daylight. So, of course, I had to ask him about those two specific movies. (And his thoughts on the recently announced effort to make a Young Guns III.)

And now, 20 years after The Lord of the Rings, Mortensen has directed his first film, Falling, based on a screenplay he wrote. As he says, it’s been a struggle to get to this point: to actually get a movie he wrote and directed made. It debuted at Sundance last January to good reviews and Mortensen thought it was off to the races … and, then, well, we all know what happened next.

Mortensen also stars in Falling, a drama about a son (Mortensen) trying to reconnect with his somewhat estranged father who is suffering from dementia, played by Lance Henriksen, who also can be, to put it mildly, an ornery cuss. But, still, Mortensen seems optimistic that people might, now, finally get a chance to see his film. And he also seems optimistic that he’s going to be able to reunite with David Cronenberg for a fourth time, later in 2021.

Viggo Mortensen: Hi, Mike, How are you?

I never know how to answer that these days.

Why, because of the times we’re in?

Yes, because of the times we’re in.

You could say, “I feel great in spite of it all.”

That’s not bad.

“I feel good in spite of it all, and maybe this is a new beginning,” or something.

It’s starting to feel that way, so maybe that’s a good thing to say.

There you go.

Falling premiered a year ago at Sundance. Do you feel like you’ve been living with this movie for a year now?

I mean, in the industry, we started out with a bang. We got these stellar reviews. And I thought, oh, we’re on our way. And then we were invited to be in the official selection for Cannes Film Festival, which is a major achievement. So I was over the moon for the movie, for all of us who worked on it so hard. And then everything collapsed. And I was worried about North America, about the US and Canada, because of the pandemic situation. And I thought, “Oh, shit, people will not get to see this movie ever.” But it’s going to happen on the 5th of February. And in fact, it’s playing in one movie theater now in New York. New York state…

Ah, okay. I was going to say I’m in New York City and there’s no theater anywhere near me open right now, unfortunately.

Pleasantville, New York it’s playing, right? Virtually, yeah. I mean, it’s through them, we’re doing a Q & A. And then on the 5th of February, it’ll come out in a very few independent movie theaters that are open and available. But mostly people are going to see it pay-per-view, streaming, whatever. That’s just the way it is this year.

I’m actually surprised this is your first movie as a director. Why did it take this long?

Well, it wasn’t for lack of trying. The first time I actually tried to take an original script that I’d written, and turn it into a movie that I would direct, was 25 years ago. And since then I’ve written other scripts. And I’ve tried many times. And sometimes I’ve come close: raised some of the money, half the money, whatever, but never enough. And even with Falling, which I started writing in 2015, it took a few tries and four years before we actually were able to shoot. But, in a way, it was probably good I had to wait this long. Because I probably avoided a lot of beginner’s mistakes my first time out.

What would have been a beginner’s mistake you would have made?

Not preparing it. Taking it for granted. If someone tells you, “Oh, you don’t have to do that. You don’t have to be present every day in the editing room. You don’t need to oversee all the pre-production yourself. You don’t have to do this, you don’t do that.” That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. I mean, the things I’ve learned from the best directors I’ve worked with over the years, the two main things have been one: you can never prepare too much or too early for a shoot. And two: a good idea can come from anyone on your crew, or in your cast, at any time. And be open to it. Don’t feel like it’s threatening that they have a suggestion, or a question that you didn’t think of.

What director comes to mind that you learned from?

There have been many. I don’t want to single out one person, but, obviously, I’ve worked with David Cronenberg three times.

Right, well there you go…

I haven’t worked with a more intelligent, technically prepared, or a better communicator with crews and cast than him. But I’ve worked with a lot of women and men from different parts of the world who have different stylistic approaches, and different cultural backgrounds, and make different kinds of movies. But those two main things, I’ve learned that from all of them in different ways.

Also, Cronenberg’s DP, Peter Suschitzky, I just think is one of the best.

He’s wonderful! Yeah.

He shot The Empire Strikes Back. People don’t realize that, and that’s why that movie is so beautiful.

He’s terrific, and he shot some really good French movies. He’s really good. I’m hoping that we’ll be partnering again soon. This year, I hope.

With Cronenberg? That’s very exciting. I don’t know this news. Is that out there?

Well, no, not yet. I probably shouldn’t say anything more about it, but that’s the goal.

Well, we need good news right now.

I agree.

So this sounds like great news.

Well, we’re going to give it our best shot. But the thing that I’ve never understood about Cronenberg is that he’s had almost a half a century of making movies, and many really good movies. He’s clearly one of the masters, right? Living masters.

Yes.

And yet this is a man who, every time out, struggles for years, usually, to raise minimal financing for his movies. Which are never really expensive. He always comes in on or under budget, on or before time on shoots. He doesn’t waste money. His movies don’t lose money. Sometimes they make some money. He’s incredibly reliable, professionally and creatively. Why should it be so difficult? I don’t understand. Why has David Cronenberg never, ever been nominated by the Academy for writing or directing a movie? I mean, that’s inexplicable to me, but such is life.

Just in broad terms, with this newish world we’re living in where streamers are making so many movies, is there a chance that that opens up more opportunities in the future?

Opens up more what? More chances of movies getting made?

Yes.

I suppose so. But that technology, it also has to do with there are cheaper ways to make movies that have a certain photographic quality now than there was before. There’s a lot of things that can happen. On the other hand, I don’t think that the pandemic will erase movie theater attendance.

I don’t either. I think you’re right.

I think there’s always going to be a market for that. I don’t think I’m the only person, or you are, that loves that experience. And it can’t really be replaced, no matter how good your sound system or your screen is at home. There’s something ritualistic that transports, ideally. There’s a hopeful exercise in just going to a movie house. And going in, and the lights go down, and you’re sitting there with strangers. A few, or by yourself.

Right.

You’re sitting in the dark in a place that’s not your home, and now let’s see what happens. Maybe, maybe what I see will take me somewhere to where I leave the movie theater for a few minutes, or a few hours, or for days feeling differently. Having a more ample view of myself and my place in the world. That’s what we crave, I think, and I don’t think that’s going to be erased. Movie theater chains are going out of business, some of them, independent theaters will struggle, but they will be replaced by others. I think they are always going to exist.

And I can’t imagine once this ends, hopefully sooner than later, that people are going to be going, “No, I want to stay in tonight.” I think people are going to want to go out again.

Oh yeah, I agree. Same with live music, same thing.

The thing I want to do more than anything in the world right now is go to a Bruce Springsteen concert. That’s what I want to do.

Well, it’ll happen. We just have to stay alive by being careful and taking the correct measures that have been on the table for a while. And, unfortunately, there are a lot of people in denial about that. Or people that have a vested interest in having people deny it. Fortunately, there’s a new page being turned now in the country, and I think we’re going to get serious about it finally.

So, since the pandemic started I’ve watched and re-watched a lot of movies and there are two I watched that I forgot you were in and I’m curious about your experience. The first one is Young Guns II.

I enjoyed that experience! Yeah, started shooting that in late ’89 and finished it in the beginning of 1990. There are two things that come to mind from that. One, when I was a little kid, I was raised around horses, but I hadn’t been around them for decades. And that movie gave me a chance to get reacquainted with horses, which I liked. I liked the Western genre. I liked being there in New Mexico, and in Arizona where we shot it. It was a good experience.

Were you a better rider than the other actors?

I was more comfortable on horses than some of them who hadn’t had that much experience, probably, I guess. I don’t know. I enjoyed it. I would go on my days off, I got to be friends with the wranglers, and I’d ask them if I could ride different horses. Because the more different kinds of horses you ride, the better rider you become. You adjust to different gaits, different types of temperaments, and all that. I mean, it was just wonderful. That was fun. And the landscapes were beautiful. The other thing that I think of when I think of that movie, when you bring it up, is that that’s when Sean Penn approached me to be in Indian Runner.

Oh?

He flew out to Arizona to meet me after sending me the script, because he had seen me in a movie called Fresh Horses. I just had a small part, but there was something about that part that made him think I could be right for one of the roles in Indian Runner. So that’s what I think of right off the top of my head.

Did you see, like a week ago, they announced Young Guns III?

No, I didn’t see that. Who’s going to be in it?

Emilio had a statement, saying they found a place in Mexico where they’re going to shoot it.

Are they going to imply that Billy the Kid wasn’t shot?

I think so? In Young Guns II, they bookend it with him being an older guy telling people he’s Billy the Kid. Maybe they’re going to lean into that? That’s my guess.

Ah, that makes sense.

You can say what you want about the movie Daylight, but Roy Nord, that’s a character ahead of his time.

Yeah, he would have probably hobnobbed with Donald Trump, I suppose, in the early days. Who knows? I don’t know. Yeah, that was a strange story. It was interesting to get into that, learn something about climbing, and all these things. I mean, I’m not naturally disposed to be a very social person, or I’m not a speechmaker. I’m not an extrovert in that sense, which sounds weird coming from an actor, but you’ll find that’s true about a lot of actors.

At least in my experience you have never been at loss for something to say. You always have thoughts on things.

Well, but Roy Nord does, too, but he’s kind of a blowhard.

Sure.

I guess what he is, he’s very confident in the way he expresses himself and promotes himself. And that was something that took me a little… I had to just dive in. And that was a bit of a challenge and I liked that. And we were shooting that in Italy, which was beautiful. I loved being there. And at the same, when I think about that movie, I also think about The Portrait of a Lady, Jane Campion’s movie.

Oh, yeah.

What happened was that I’d got the role in Jane Campion’s movie. It’s not a big role, and it wasn’t a lot of pay, and it was spread over several months of that production. And if I had just done that movie, I would have been further in debt than I was before I started. So I had to find another movie. And I was lucky that Daylight was shooting, and I got that role and shot simultaneously. So it was kind of schizophrenic. While I was shooting Daylight, I would finish a day’s shooting, and then I would drive in a car to the other end of the country, in Italy. And put on a wig, and play Caspar Goodwood for Jane Campion for a couple of days. Then I’d go back down to Rome, and keep shooting at Cinecitta for Rob Cohen in Daylight.

Well, I am happy people are going to finally get to see Falling. You get your movie, and then the pandemic happens. But I think people will really enjoy it.

The one thing that really concerns me is that the actors get their due. From four-year-old Grady McKenzie, all the way up to 80-year-old Lance Henriksen.

Oh, Lance Henriksen is so great in this, yes.

But Lance especially, I think it’s a performance that will stand the test of time. It’s unlike anything anybody else has done this year, or for a long time. I think it’s just remarkable what he accomplished. And it’s disturbing, layered, it’s nuanced. It’s really a brave performance. And I want people to see the movie if, for nothing else, just so he gets his due.

‘Falling’ will be released on Feb. 5th. You can contact Mike Ryan directly on Twitter.

This Year’s ‘Madden’ Simulation Predicted A 10-Point Chiefs Win In The Super Bowl

Every year, EA Sports puts together a simulation of the Super Bowl with the latest edition of Madden, and this year, Madden NFL 21 predicted the Tom Brady-Patrick Mahomes matchup in Super Bowl LV will end with a Chiefs win.

The game not only gives Kansas City, currently three-point favorites, an edge, but predicts a pretty decisive victory with a final score of 37-27, despite the Buccaneers getting home-field advantage for the first time in NFL history and the Chiefs winning by just three points in these teams’ Week 12 bout.

The simulation saw Mahomes throw for 422 yards and three touchdowns while Brady ended with 332 yards, three touchdowns, and his fourth playoff interception. Of course, it’s all just Madden‘s best approximation of how the game could turn out, but after a couple years of lower-scoring Super Bowls since the Patriots-Eagles classic in 2018, it would be a great end to a fun season if this one ended up being a shootout. It also wouldn’t be shocking if this turns into a high-scoring tilt, either, as the two teams possess two of the NFL’s most dynamic and creative offenses with skill position talent in droves and a pair of signal callers capable of making magic happen.

The current over/under for Super Bowl LV is 56.5, so Madden also is predicting an over on the game here. Only two Super Bowls in the past decade have had a total as high as the 64 points predicted in this year’s Madden simulation.

Moneybagg Yo Snaps On Nosy Media In His Cathartic ‘Time Today’ Video

Memphis rapper Moneybagg Yo is all the way fed up in the video for his latest single, “Time Today.” From being followed through the grocery store by an intrepid photographer to weathering vicious rumors made up by gossip-mongering media, Moneybagg refuses to back down in the video, holding a press conference to address his haters and getting away from it all via a (green screen) tropical vacation. Back at home, Yo watches himself on a flatscreen, switching between his press conference and a spoof episode of Girlfriends featuring himself in the role of William.

Moneybagg is flying high to start the year after the success of his 2020 single “Said Sum,” which became a TikTok favorite and earned a remix with City Girls and DaBaby. Thanks to support from celebrities like Sasha Obama, the song was streamed to platinum status and reached No. 1 at hip-hop radio.

Yo also released a pair of full-length projects in 2020: His third studio album, Time Served, which came out in January and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and the Code Red mixtape with fellow Memphian Blac Youngsta, released in September. Code Red went to No. 6 on the “200” chart, sealing Moneybagg Yo’s dominance over 2020 and setting him up for a potentially explosive 2021.
