Woman is on a mission to find the girl who sent her a Sadie Hawkins invitation by mistake

It was a leisure-filled Sunday morning when Laurice Marier heard her doorbell ring and went to go answer it. But by the time she arrived at her front porch, all that was waiting for her was a Sadie Hawkins dance proposal.

The mystery sender named Katie clearly had a love for puns, writing, “I’ve BEAN meaning to ask you, wanna go to Sadies?” on a poster accompanied by four cans of beans and a bag of jellybeans. (How cute is that?)

Though the invite was clearly given to her by mistake, Marier told her local news outlet Fox KSTU that she had to try to reach the original sender.

“When I had crushes, or just people I was interested in, I often just took that very nervous step in trying to just reach out,” she told KSTU. “I just remember when it wasn’t successful how my heart just dropped, and I do not want that for Katie.”

In addition to calling nearby high schools, Marier also posted to her community Facebook Page in an attempt to find more information.

“This was left on my doorstep in the Traverse Mountain area yesterday but there is no one at my household who is Jr. High or High School age,” her post read. “I feel bad for Katie… does anyone know her?”

Though no one could provide Katie’s whereabouts, hundreds shared Marier’s concern.

“Asking someone to a dance is scary enough, but to not get an answer back and not know it was because it went to the wrong house would be so sad.Thank you for being a caring person!” one person wrote.

As of Oct 9, no one knows if Katie is aware that her sweet invite landed at the wrong address. But, as Marier wrote in an update, “it wasn’t because of the incredible effort of this community.”

She remains hopeful that because of the amount of widespread coverage the story has gotten, perhaps Katie is just “nervous of coming forward.” So the new plan is to wait a week, and if there is no response, Marier will “make a little chili and eat some jellybeans in her honor. 😊”

Jeremy Allen White Has Agreed To Frequent Alcohol Testing Amid His Divorce Negotiations With Addison Timlin

Earlier this year, actress Addison Timlin filed for divorce from The Bear and Shameless star Jeremy Allen White. The pair had been high school sweethearts and married for three years. They now share two daughters, and as everyone is aware, custody situations can get contentious. However, a point of conflict has apparently been nipped in the bud, according to TMZ, which reports that Addison and Jeremy will share joint physical and legal custody with a catch. In order to do so, Jeremy has agreed to frequent alcohol testing along with a support program.

Jeremy has agreed to be tested several (“up to five”) times per week in order to maintain custody, and it sounds like there is zero tolerance for slip-ups (“when he has custody”) in this agreement. From TMZ:

If Jeremy has a positive test for alcohol, he gets to retest again 15 minutes later to make sure the test is accurate.

The docs say Jeremy and Addison agreed to share joint physical and legal custody … but Jeremy’s custodial time has strings attached, and he’s also got to attend at least one Alcoholics Anonymous meeting a week, plus other therapy.

Those who have followed White’s career know that he portrayed the alcoholic Lip Gallagher on Shameless, and he subsequently shot to coveted actor status after The Bear‘s popular and acclaimed first season. He thanked Addison while accepting a Golden Globe, and she gushed over his performance. Following that success, White found himself as the sudden recipient of several A24 scripts. He will soon be seen in The Iron Claw, which is sure to feature another intense and heavy performance, but it sounds like on the personal front, he’s committed to keeping things steady and drama free.

Vincent D’Onofrio Wants To Assure Worried ‘Daredevil’ Fans That The Troubled Reboot Will Still Be ‘Cool’

Is the Daredevil reboot okay? On Monday, a report revealed that after reviewing some of the Disney+ version of the Netflix original, which includes some but not all of the original cast (star Charlie Cox included), Marvel brass didn’t like it. They even fired the show’s head writers and directors. Understandably, that’s got some worried about some behind-the-scenes mishegoss afoot, which could result in a greatly inferior product. But Vincent D’Onofrio, the resident Kingpin of both versions, says people need to chill.

After a Doubting Thomas took to X/Twitter to express some skepticism over the retooled Daredevil, D’Onofrio personally stepped in to mollify their concerns. “Unless you really know what’s going there’s a chance you could be wrong about this statement,” the actor wrote. “We are going to bring forward the best series we can. One we can be proud of. Have some trust my friend [sic], trust.”

After said skeptic apologized, likely not expecting one of the show’s stars to respond, D’Onofrio continued to calm their nerves.

“Every cool project I’ve been involved with has evolved constantly during pre- production, production and post,” he wrote. “It’s just reported on these days as if it’s big news. It’s not. It’s simple a bunch of creatives doing their best to get it right. It’s a constant in this business. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Frankly I’d be worried if we were settling for less.”

Perhaps this Daredevil: Born Again business really is just some typical production-as-usual. Or maybe it’s more severe than that. The Hollywood Reporter reported that showrunners Matt Corman and Chris Ord had submitted a “legal procedural that did not resemble the Netflix version.” Cox didn’t even show up in his skin-tight Daredevil get-up until episode four out of an ambitious 18. So maybe D’Onofrio is right, and this is a mere Mulligan and everyone should keep on keepin’ on.

City Girls Announced Their New Album ‘RAW (Real Ass Wh*res)’ After An Electrifying BET Hip-Hop Awards Performance

Miami rap duo City Girls is three years removed from the release of their last album, City On Lock. Since then, they haven’t lost any of their momentum while pursuing other projects, including solo singles and Yung Miami’s show Caresha Please. This month, they’ll build on the foundation they’ve already laid with their third studio album, RAW, which they announced during last night’s BET Hip-Hop Awards.

The album’s title is an acronym, which stands for “Real Ass Wh*res,” and its release date will be next Friday, October 20. They’ve released a steady stream of singles this year, including “Face Down,” “I Need A Thug,” and “Piñata,” and while none has been a runaway hit like “Act Up,” they’ve been enough to drive excitement among the girls’ hardcore day-one fans — which is usually all you need at times like these. Meanwhile, they also delivered a crowd-pleasing performance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, proving that demand for their services is still just as high as ever.

While fans have been waiting for a new album from JT and Yung Miami, they’ve both kept busy. Yung Miami has had her show on Revolt, while JT launched her No Bars Reform initiative in July.

RAW (Real Ass Wh*res) is due on 10/20 via Quality Control Music.

Here Are The New Features In iOS 17.1 Beta 2 And Beta 3

Last month, Apple officially released iOS 17 to most iPhone models around the world — most notably its newly released iPhone 15 line. Some of the most notable features with the new iOS update included customizable posters for contacts, live voicemail, offline Apple maps, transcripts for voice messages, and much more. Most of the updates that were originally announced back in June were released with the official iOS 17 release, but others like the new Journal app, have not been released yet. If you’re like me, you knew the Journal app was not going to be a part of the official iOS 17 release thanks to the developer beta that was released following the iOS 17 announcement in June.

This beta allows developers to get their hands on the update a few months early so they can make the necessary updates to their apps. It also allows regular folks like myself to enjoy the new features while also assuming the risks that come with downloading a beta. With that being said, Apple recently released iOS 17.1 beta 2 and iOS 17.1 beta 3, and here are the new features that can be found on them.

Beta 3

Radiation Resolution For iPhone Users In France

Apple, and specifically the iPhone 12, ran into an issue with regulations in France over the devices exceeding the country’s Specific Absorption Rate (“SAR”) limits. The surpassing of that limit caused the iPhone 12 to be banned in France so Apple issued a fix in the 17.1 beta 3 update. According to Apple’s release notes, the update will reduce “power when off-body on a static surface.” It adds, that the iPhone 12 will “no longer increase the allowed power when the off-body state is detected, such as while it is sitting on a table. As such, in coverage areas where cellular signal is low, this change in antenna transmit power may result in slightly lower cellular performance in certain off-body use cases. The vast majority of users are not expected to notice any impact.”

Credit Card Account Activity In Wallet App

Discover card holders can now connect their debit and credit card accounts to the Apple Wallet app where they can see recent activity and the current card balance for their account. This feature is only available for Discover cards and it remains to be seen if and when it will be available for other places like American Express, Chase, and Citi.

Action Button Update (iPhone 15 Pro And iPhone 15 Pro Max Only)

If a user’s iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max is in their pocket or has recently been in their pocket, the user will need to press and hold the action button for a bit longer for the desired action to trigger. This update was made to reduce the number of unintentional triggers that occur when the device is in a user’s pocket.

Wallet App Update

Apple acknowledged an issue with the Wallet app where it may crash on launch for users on iOS 17.1 beta 1 and 2 once beta 3 was released. Apple says the workaround for this is to upgrade the device to iOS 17.1 beta 3.

Power Consumption Issue Tied To Apple Watch On watchOS 10.1

Many users complained of increased power consumption of an iPhone on iOS 17 that was connected to an Apple Watch running on watchOS 10.1. Apple has now corrected this issue to lower the amount of power used by an iPhone.

Beta 2

StandBy Display Update

There are new options in the StandBy section in the Settings app which allows you to customize when the display turns off. The display can turn off automatically, after 20 seconds, or never based on the option that is selected.

Ringtones Update

iOS 17 introduced a slew of new ringtones for iPhone models, but with iOS 17.1 beta 1, they were all removed. Thankfully, all of the new ringtones were placed back in the ringtone section.

80% Charging Limit Update

For iPhone 15 models, Apple introduced a new option in the battery section that would prevent a phone from going past 80% while charging. Unfortunately with iOS 17.1 beta 1, iPhone 15 models were still charging past 80% despite this option being toggled on. With iOS 17.1 beta 2, that fix is corrected. This option is only available on iPhone 15 model phones.

Apple Music Update

iOS 17.1 beta 1 introduced a new option to favorite songs, albums, and playlists in Apple Music. Favoriting a song, album, or playlist was supposed to send it to a specific place to find them. Now with iOS 17.1 beta 2, it’s easier to see your favorited items. It can be accessed in the song, album, or playlists section by tapping the button in the top right corner and selecting “Favorited.”

AirDrop Update

iPhones can now use cellular data to AirDrop items to another phone, something that was only possible over WiFi before iOS 17. Thanks to the upgrade, AirDrops can now happen even if two iPhones are out of range from each other.

Flashlight Update For Live Activities

Apple has now placed a flashlight symbol in the dynamic island of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models. This is to let users know when the device’s flashlight is on which is handy for situations where a user accidentally turns on their flashlight and has no idea they did.

Who Does Vanna White Think Might Replace Her On ‘Wheel Of Fortune?’

Vanna White just secured her letter-turning job on Wheel of Fortune after an intense series of negotiations, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t eyeing up a successor.

With longtime host Pat Sajak getting ready to retire after this season, White opened up about the changes coming to the classic game show when new host Ryan Seacrest steps in. Most notably, White seemed to be teeing up her own replacement: Maggie Sajak.

The 28-year-old daughter of Wheel‘s outgoing host has already fill-in for White on a few occasions in addition to her role as the show’s social media correspondent. If something should happen, White is confident Maggie can get the job done.

“She’s been around it her whole life, so I think she can fill in for me for sure,” White told E! News:

The 66-year-old also noted that Pat’s signature charm has certainly “rubbed off” on Maggie, who turned letters on the puzzle board earlier this year when Vanna was a contestant on an episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. “She’s precious, she’s beautiful, she’s very good,” Vanna raved of Maggie. “I think she learned a lot from her father because he’s such a good interviewer.”

As for working with Seacrest, White is prepared for the change ahead, but fully admits it will be “really hard” after working with Sajak for 41 years. Fortunately, White already has a good feeling about Seacrest.

“He is a kind man. He is professional. He’s good at what he does. He likes to have fun,” White shared. “He even said to me, ‘I’m not trying to replace Pat by any means. I just want to go in and do a good job. So, that’s what he’s going to do and I think he’s going to be just fine.”

Doc Rivers Would Tell James Harden To ‘Just Play And It’ll Work Out’ Amid His Trade Request

James Harden is still a member of the Philadelphia 76ers despite the fact that he really does not want to be there. Prior to the start of the NBA’s free agency period this summer, Harden picked up the player option for the final year of his contract and requested a trade, with the Los Angeles Clippers being his preferred destination.

That deal just has not materialized, nor has any other potential deal with one of the other 28 teams in the league. Harden doesn’t exactly have a sterling reputation for how he carries himself when he wants to leave a team, but in the eyes of his former coach in Philly, his best course of action is to put his head down and go to work. During an appearance on NBA Today, Malika Andrews asked Doc Rivers what he advice he’d give to Harden as he prepares to enter this year.

“Just play and it’ll work out,” Rivers said. “James is a terrific player, and if he has to go to Philadelphia, clearly that’s not the situation that he wants to be in going by what he has said. Just got and play, be a pro, and I think it’ll all work out.

“But he’s in a tough spot,” Rivers continued. “We all know that. It’s hard to walk back all the things that have been said. It’s a tough situation for him, but I think he’ll be able to get through it.”

Rivers, of course, was Harden’s coach for the entirety of his tenure in Philadelphia until he was fired this offseason and replaced by Nick Nurse — it was reported that Harden did not want to play for Rivers anymore. Rivers, who admitted that coaching Harden was “challenging,” is now an analyst for ESPN and will join Mike Breen and Doris Burke in the broadcast booth.

Pete Davidson Has Found A Surprisingly Lucrative New Side-Hustle: Selling Old VHS Tapes For Thousands Of Dollars

With the entertainment world gearing back up, Pete Davidson stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where he touted not just his upcoming hosting gig on Saturday Night Live, but also, his apparently lucrative side hustle.

While talking to Fallon, Davidson revealed that he’s spent the past three years buying up VHS tapes in hopes that they’ll become vintage collector’s items like vinyl records.

“I was really high one night,” Davidson admitted (via Insider) before delivering his pitch. “Listen to this, guys. So in 2026, it’ll be 20 years since the last VHS was made, right? So 20 years go by… that’s enough time for people to be like, ‘Oh, that was cool, remember?’ Like vinyl.”

“So I bought all the sealed ones that exist, like 3,000 to 5,000 tapes,” Davidson said, which had Fallon and the audience dying with laughter. “You guys sound like my mom. No one believes in me!”

However, Davidson got the last laugh by sharing the details of his latest sale.

“So, as of a month ago, sealed VHSes are now going for like 20 to 30 grand a pop,” he said. “Rocky just sold for like $27,000. Yeah, it’s my GameStop! Like, dude, I own all of them. Dude, no one believed in me.”

Although, if his plan doesn’t work, Davidson joked that he’ll be “on the road forever” to make up for the loss. In the meantime, you can watch Davidson’s latest promo for this weekend’s SNL below:

Nurse turns inappropriate things men say in the delivery room into ‘inspirational’ art

After working six years as a labor and delivery nurse Holly, 30, has heard a lot of inappropriate remarks made by men while their partners are in labor. “Sometimes the moms think it’s funny—and if they think it’s funny, then I’ll laugh with them,” Holly told TODAY Parents. “But if they get upset, I’ll try to be the buffer. I’ll change the subject.”

Some of the comments are so wrong that she did something creative with them by turning them into “inspirational” quotes and setting them to “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton on TikTok.

“Some partners are hard to live up to!” she jokingly captioned the video.

The first video featured the following facepalm-inducing quotes:

“I think you should just get a C-section. This is taking too long.”

“How long is this gonna take? I have plans this weekend.”

“Are you sure you want an epidural? My mom didn’t have one. Before you make a decision, we should talk about it.”

“Sew an extra stitch down there for me, doc. We want everything just the way it was before all of this.”

@hollyd_rn

Part 1: Some partners are hard to live up to! Get you a good one #laboranddelivery #labor

It’s unbelievable that anyone would make such selfish comments while their partner is in the throes of giving birth. Anyone who would ask, “How long is this gonna take?” definitely isn’t prepared to raise a child.

Some TikTok users thought that these women should have left their partners right there in the delivery room.

“LOL immediate divorce, I’m not joking,” Rig wrote. Little_n_often agreed saying, “I’d be getting the divorce papers ready.”

“I would sign the divorce papers while in labor and pushing,” another commenter wrote.

The video was a massive hit on TikTok, receiving over 10 million views. So, the nurse followed it up with a sequel where she shared more “inspirational” delivery room quotes from men.

@hollyd_rn

Part 2: some partners are hard to live up to! Get you a good one! #laboranddelivery #babydaddy #labor

“Wake me up when the baby gets here I’m tired.” (Rolls over, puts cover over head and slept thru the birth of his baby.)

“Can you move to the birthing ball so I can sleep in the bed?”

(As the patient is pushing) “Do you guys do DNA tests here? My mom wants me to get one before we leave.”

“Call me when you’re about to have the baby. I’m gonna go with [name redacted] to the bar and watch the game.”

Holly also told TODAY Parents that men should also keep their thoughts on pain medication to themselves and to stop looking at the contraction monitor and making comments.

“She can feel it!” Holly said. “You don’t need to ask her if she felt it. Trust me, she did.”

Holly’s public airing of men’s bad behavior had to be therapeutic, because, as a nurse, she can’t tell them off in the delivery room. But it’s also a warning to men out there on how not to behave when their partners are giving birth. If there was ever a time in the world to stop thinking about yourself, it’s while your partner is giving birth.

Remember guys, think before you say anything in the delivery room, the nurses are listening.

Couple retires to live on cruise ships because it’s ‘cheaper than a nursing home’

The cost of living in the United States has gone up so much in recent years that living on a cruise ship has become a reasonable idea for some retirees. When Nancy and Robert Houchens of Charlottesville, Virginia, retired, they decided to sell almost everything they had and live out their golden years hopping from cruise ship to cruise ship.

“We had a 3,000-square-foot home full of furniture…and everything we own now would fit in the back of a pickup truck,” Robert told USA Today.

“We sold all of our estates except for a little condominium we have in Florida, so when we get too old to cruise, we have somewhere to live,” Nancy added. “And we did keep two vehicles, and what we kept is in half of (Robert’s mother’s storage unit), which is, I don’t know, 10×10 or something. We just walked away from everything.”

Life on a cruise ship is stress-free for the couple because their needs are taken care of on the ship. “It’s been great. I don’t cook. I don’t clean,” Nancy told the Miami Herald.

The couple has found that living on a cruise ship isn’t as expensive as some may assume. Even though inflation has driven up the cost of travel in the U.S., it hasn’t significantly impacted the cruise industry.

“It’s much cheaper than a nursing home or assisted living. It was just a good fit for us. It’s a good fit for a lot of people,” Robert told the Miami Herald.

The couple plans their trips differently than someone who is going on vacation. “We look for the best deal, not the destination,” Nancy told Cruise Passenger.

The couple initially planned to spend $4,000 a month living on the ships. “Our original budget was $4,000 a month. This included gratuities. Of course, things are more expensive now, so that budget has had to increase a little. Depending on where we go, we may or may not need the internet,” she told Cruise Passenger.

“Our phone plan covers most everywhere for 25 cents a minute to call with free internet and texting,” Nancy continued. “We have an annual travel insurance plan, and one of our credit cards also has travel insurance.”

For the Houchens, living on board a cruise ship is definitely cheaper than assisted living. According to the 2020 Genworth Cost of Care Survey, the average monthly cost per person to live in assisted living in Virginia is $5,250 a month, which would cost Houchens over $10,000 a month as a couple.

Further, the roughly $4,000 the couple spends a month includes food, and they don’t have to bother paying for a car. They also try to book their cruises consecutively so they don’t waste money paying for expensive hotels when transferring between cruise lines.

Last July, the Houchens celebrated their 1,000th day sailing with Carnival Cruise Line since the 1980s, and they look forward to countless more days at sea with each other and the new friends they’ve made on their never-ending cruise.

“We cruise Carnival because of the people,” Richard told Travel Pulse. “It isn’t the destinations for us anymore, it’s the journey—and the biggest part of the journey is the people.”
