This Halloween season, there is a nighttime new threat to unsuspecting sleepers in a coastal New Zealand city. A number of people have joined in what is called “siren battles” in which people compete to play really loud (like, really loud) music out of their cars and bikes. Much like mythological sirens (and firetruck sirens), it’s been driving people a little nuts, and now Celine Dion is being thrown into the mix.

Dion’s classic hits “My Heart Will Go On” and “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now” have been blasting throughout the town as late as 2 a.m., according to local news reports. This seems to be a popular trend that, like most things these days, has spread throughout TikTok. But even if the internet likes it, it doesn’t mean the locals do.

Mayor Anita Baker is not happy with the trend and is working on a solution. “We need to find somewhere alternative for these people to go or they need to stop,” she told The Guardian. They might be able to go to Vegas next year to see some Celine in person but that might not be what they are looking for.

Almost 300 locals have signed a petition to get the people to stop playing music, but it seems to only have gotten more popular. According to The Spinoff, each siren costs around $100 to be attached to your vehicle, and a full set-up can be upwards of $7k. All to hear “My Heart Will Go On” literally vibrate through your internal organs (including the heart).

Why Dion? It seems like the battle contestants really appreciate her ability to bring the house down without a ton of bass. Plus, she really appreciates good music.

Forget Christmas creep; every year, it seems like our favorite stars race to post their pop culture-referencing Halloween costumes in increasingly elaborate photoshoots earlier and earlier in the year. Chloe Bailey is one of the biggest perpetrators, posting a VFX-laden photo of herself as Storm a few days before the official festivities.

This year, she’s getting in on the action even earlier with a photoshoot inspired by Game Of Thrones villain Daenerys I Targaryen (she’s got a thing for silver wigs, huh). While I can’t say I remember ever seeing the Khaleesi rocking chrome bikini armor, I doubt anyone but the most pedantic geeks are complaining (and this is exactly why y’all are stuck on those incel forums, guys).

Of course, Ms. Bailey is herself no stranger to revealing metallic swimwear. Earlier this year, she turned heads with her booty-baring Carnival costume, while her festive Valentine’s Day shoot floored fans in February. I’m sure Chlöe’s fans can’t wait for Christmas.

Meanwhile, when it comes to pushing the boundaries of spooky season, she’s got a ways to go to keep up with the reigning co-queens of Halloween, Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion. Doja straight up posted her pumpkins in September last year, as did Meg. We’ll see who takes the crown this year closer to the holiday, probably, but Chlöe’s already setting the pace.

Memoirs, memoirs, memoirs. A hefty supply of tell-alls has reached the celebrity-watching audience over the past few weeks, and John Stamos is also here to tell everyone bout his Full House angst in If You Would Have Told Me.

As well, Stamos has opened up about his beef with Tony Danza, and he has detailed his lengthy battle with alcoholism. The situation grew dire, and while filming a My Big Fat Greek Wedding sequel (released in 2016), he forgot, mid-shoot, that this film was happening and that he was in it. Here’s what he told Howard Stern, via Variety:

“I was just with Rita Wilson and Nia [Vardalos] in Greece and I realized, I forgot that the next day [after the arrest] they said, ‘Oh, you got to go to Toronto, you’re in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2,’” Stamos recalled. “I’m like, ‘What?’ I was hammered. I don’t remember being on that set.’”

Stamos detailed how, once he finished with the shoot, his sisters and his agents teamed up to pack his backs and ship him off to rehab. That followed his DUI arrest, which had begun to convince him to seek help for his alcoholism, but he wasn’t quite ready yet, as he left jail and then “drank another bottle of wine by myself.” Fast forward to 2023, and he hasn’t had an alcoholic drink in eight full years.

The more time passes, the more the ABC Gods might start regretting their decision to hire Ryan Seacrest as the new host of America’s favorite pastime, Wheel of Fortune. First, the professional host joked that he was going to “screw up” the gig because he couldn’t spell. And we all just laughed it off. Then Seacrest openly admitted that he doesn’t know how toilets work, which raised some eyebrows, but was mostly overlooked. But now, Seacrest’s old co-worker Kelly Ripa seems to be throwing the guy under the bus.

Wheel of Fortune’s Vanna White stopped by Live with Kelly and Mark when she said she was excited about Seacrest’s upcoming hosting gig, even though she’s losing Pat Sajak after so many years “I was very happy because when a host leaves and another host comes in, you never know what you’re gonna get,” she explained. She’s right, you never know who will fill in for you. She added, “And I thought, ‘Pat is such a nice guy’ so I’m happy that the new version of Pat would also be a nice guy.” White then asked for some tips about Seacrest, and that’s where things got dicey.

Ripa’s husband and co-host Mark Consuelos’ said “He can’t spell,” and Ripa agreed, much to White’s shock. Ripa asked if White had noticed any misspellings in their text conversations, but she said no, but Ripa didn’t seem to believe her.

“Maybe he’s dictating a text and somebody’s typing it for him,” Ripa assumed. She then tried to explain just how bad Seacrest is at spelling, and it seems to be bad enough that nobody ever knows what the man is saying. “When Ryan Seacrest texts you, you say to yourself, ‘This person is trying to tell me something.’ That’s the first thing is that you realize that Ryan is trying to tell you something, but oftentimes, you just don’t know what that is.” Maybe he is trying to say something without buying a vowel.

Seacrest will take over for Sajak next year, and it seems like Ripa is going to keep hinting at the rumor that the Idol host can’t spell. Maybe she wants to host for herself? It seems like she needs a break from her husband Mark over there.

This distinctive look from Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella headlining performance should be easy to pull off — it’s just a pair of denim shorts, a yellow sweatshirt, and a pair of calf-length high-heel boots. Bedazzle yourself a sorority logo and throw some tassels on the boots and you’re good to go… bonus points if you actually went to an HBCU and/or rushed a sorority.

There you have it! Just one last thing: This should really go without saying, but stay away from blackface — it’s a bad look.

Brent Faiyaz has grown to be one of R&B’s most popular acts and he’s done it on the independent circuit. Proof of his success and popularity was clear with his sophomore album Wasteland, which arrived in 2022. Netflix just dropped its latest erotic thriller, Burning Betrayal, and already, the Brazilian film has the makings of being the next raunchy hit for the streaming platform à la 365 Days.

According to Tudum, the film directed by Diego Freitas is described as a “stylish thriller driven by a bold sexual adventure.” Burning Betrayal centers on Babi, a scorned woman who’s just learned the love of her life has been cheating on her for years. However, the revelation sets her on a path towards a new lover, Marco, who could be the passionate partner she’s needed or something else entirely.

Like 365 Days, Burning Betrayal reportedly features several sex scenes that “border on the pornographic,” according to Decider, so bring the popcorn.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Sometimes your unconscious desires have a way of pointing you to truths hiding in plain sight. When Babi (Giovanna Lancellotti), a successful accountant, learns that her fiancé’s been cheating on her, she’s furious, devastated, and has no choice but to start over: She gets back on her motorcycle, joins a bike club, and dyes her hair dark. Meanwhile, she crosses paths with Marco (Leandro Limo) — or, as she privately nicknames him, “the hot judge” — and suddenly she’s swept into a torrid affair. But is there more to her new paramour than meets the eye?

Burning Betrayal is available for streaming on Netflix.

No offense to Killers of the Flower Moon, Barbie, and Past Lives, but the year in film peaked in January when M3GAN — from the major motion picture M3GAN — did a TikTok dance before killing a bunch of hired goons. It’s all been downhill since, but there’s a way to save cinema: M3GAN vs. Chucky.

It could happen! In an interview with Variety, Child’s Play and Syfy/USA Network’s Chucky creator Don Mancini discussed the proliferation of murder dolls in pop culture with not only M3GAN but also Annabelle.

“He really has to contend with legitimate new contenders to the throne like M3GAN and Annabelle,” he said. “He has to deal with that place for himself in the pop culture world and that’s how we really touch the ground with Chucky. We give this off-the-wall character a crisis that has the sting of real pain and real life. But it just makes him angrier and you know what happens when Chucky gets angry.” He gets stabby.

As for whether Chucky and M3GAN could pull a Freddy vs. Jason (the dolls are NBCUniversal properties), Mancini teased, “I would say, stay tuned.” I know who would win: me, when I stuff both dolls in a laundry bag and kick them off a cliff.

As the old saying goes, there are no pockets in shrouds, and even though Diane Sweeney loved her 2016 Volkswagen Beetle, she couldn’t take it with her to the great beyond, so she chose to have some fun with it after she passed away.

A month before she died suddenly, on July 7, 2022, she told her nephew Rick Ingram that she wanted to give her car away at her funeral and it didn’t matter who came.

“She told a few of us her wish,” Ingram told Fox News. “I remember it clear as day. She said, ‘Whoever comes to my funeral, I want them to have a chance to win my Volkswagen Beetle.’ And I said, ‘Oh, Diane, I’ll make that happen.’”

But Sweeney didn’t limit the potential owners of her car to her family. She wanted the opportunity opened up to the entire community.

“We put it in the local paper,” Ingram said. “That her wish is that whoever comes to the funeral — and she didn’t care if they knew her or not, or their age, race — would have a chance to win her car. Channel 4 picked it up and asked if they could do a news story [about it]. I said, ‘Absolutely. It’ll pack the funeral home’ — which it did.”

The announcement worked, and the funeral home was packed on the day of Sweeney’s celebration of life. There were friends, family and a few dozen complete strangers excited for the opportunity to win the car.

“This is exactly how she would have wanted it. People from all walks of life were here. All ages, faces, races. Some of them came just because they heard about this woman’s story, and they needed a car,” Sweeney’s niece, Suzanne Singleterry, told KFOR.

While the thought of raffling off a used car at a funeral may sound a bit strange to some, for Sweeney, it was in line with her unique character. She worked in biostatistics for an East Coast pharmaceutical company, never married, and had no children. After a successful career, she returned to Oklahoma to live a simple life.

“She could have lived anywhere and driven any vehicle. And what she cared about was her Christian faith, her family and her Volkswagen Beetle. She also loved Sonic and Burger King,” Ingram said.

After the funeral, the family entrusted all of the raffle tickets to family friends and they waited until the estate was settled to draw a name. When the long wait was over, the family chose a name late last month, and it was 16-year-old Gabriella Bonham from El Reno, Oklahoma.

While she was staying in a hotel with her family on vacation, she received a phone call from Sweeney’s family saying, “Congratulations, you were the winner!” Bonham replied, “This is crazy! Thank you guys so much!”

The car was a blessing for Bonham, who was having trouble with hers. “I have a hand-me-down car that has some issues, and we were trying to figure out ways that I could get a new car. So, it was just an answer to prayers,” Bonham told KFOR.

In addition to giving away the car, the family will give a small appreciation gift to 10 names they picked from the raffle box.

Some kids are natural born leaders, and one adorable flower girl is a prime example.

A video created by the Lomelino Family and shared by weddingz.in on Instagram shows a little girl in a fancy red dress talking to her dad about the wedding in which she’s to be a flower girl. Clearly, she has done her homework and put a lot of thought into how her role is supposed to go—as well as anticipated where it might go awry.

For instance, she tells her dad he can’t call her name when she’s walking down the aisle. Obviously, Dad’s got a reputation. And when he asks if he can call out, “Princess!” instead, she full-on womansplains weddings to him, complete with a classic patient-but-exasperated brushing bangs away from her face move.
