The ‘Air’ Super Bowl Trailer Brings Together Ben Affleck And Matt Damon, And Michael Jordan (Kind Of)

Ever since they won an Oscar for Good Will Hunting, it’s been an event whenever Ben Affleck and Matt Damon work together. The pair are in multiple Kevin Smith movies (including his post-Clerks career highlight, Dogma) and The Last Duel, which rules. This year, they’re starring in another film based on real-life events, with slightly better hairdos.

Amazon has released a new trailer for Air, which stars Damon as Sonny Vaccaro and Affleck as Nike co-founder Phil Knight as they try to sign Michael Jordan to a shoe deal. Like in the first trailer, His Airness only appears from behind; he’s a “mythic figure hovering above the movie and never seen,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. You probably know how this story plays out. The fun is seeing Affleck and Damon together again, the great Viola Davis as MJ’s mother, and the retro fashion.

You can watch the trailer above. Here’s the official plot synopsis:

From award-winning director Ben Affleck, Air reveals the unbelievable game-changing partnership between a then-rookie Michael Jordan and Nike’s fledgling basketball division which revolutionized the world of sports and contemporary culture with the Air Jordan brand. This moving story follows the career-defining gamble of an unconventional team with everything on the line, the uncompromising vision of a mother who knows the worth of her son’s immense talent, and the basketball phenom who would become the greatest of all time.

Air, which also stars Jason Bateman, Chris Messina, Matthew Maher, Marlon Wayans, Jay Mohr, Julius Tennon, and Chris Tucker, will be released by Amazon Studios on April 7.

Jay-Z And Blue Ivy Carter Took Adorable Photos On The Super Bowl Field, But One Detail Stood Out For Fans

Jay-Z was recently spotted alongside his eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, while at Super Bowl LVII. The father and daughter duo stood on the field to take some photos, but one thing stood out. In one of the photos that have surfaced online, Jay-Z can be seen wrapping his arm around Blue like a proud dad, which is no big deal. But fans were quick to point out that Jay’s photo for his gameday access pass looks like it’s from decades ago.

Jay- Z has a lot to celebrate these days. Aside from being a proud father, he and his wife are Grammy award-winning mega hitmakers. The couple recently tied for most Grammy nominations in recording history with 88. But it was his wife who made history that night, with the most Grammy wins from any artist ever for her Reinassance album.

The Brooklyn-bred mogul also took the Grammy stage that night —his first time in years— giving a thrilling eight-minute performance of Dj Khaled’s “God Did.” Joining him were Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, John Legend, and Giveon.

The rapper also closed on a multi-billion dollar deal with D’Usse following his lawsuit with Bacardi, with whom he co-owned the liquor company. Jay’s company SC Liquor sued the top-shelf liquor brand over “financial clarity” back in October, according to TMZ.

Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show Performance Included A Slew Of Her Biggest Hits

The moment everyone was waiting for — or at least, non-football fans and everybody outside of Philly, Kansas City, and Phoenix (where the game was held) — has arrived: Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show performance has brought the house down.

While the set included such hits as “Rude Boy,” “Work,” and “We Found Love.” The set opened with “Bitch Better Have My Money” as Rihanna stood on a suspended platform high above the field, and as it dropped down to hover just over the field, she launched into a dance breakdown-driven “Where Have You Been” and “Only Girl.” She even threw in a little of DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts,” as a treat. The final song was “DIamonds,” a showstopping number that once again saw her ascend to the top of the stadium as thousands of fans’ phone lights glittered around her like, well, diamonds in the sky.

It’s obviously difficult to squeeze 15+ years into just 13 minutes of performance — as evidenced by Rihanna remixing the set no fewer than 39 times — but fortunately, all those comparisons between Rihanna and Beyoncé turned out to be good for something. Rihanna watched Beyoncé’s 2013 and 2016 Super Bowl Halftime performances for inspiration, telling iHeartRadio, “She is a beast and a whole other level. Just to be inspired, really.”

In addition to the challenge of compressing so much music into such a short amount of time, Rihanna also had to contend with conservative pushback to her playing the Halftime Show. Ronny Jackson, a Republican Congressman from Texas, tweeted, “Why is the NFL showcasing this crap? Rihanna SHOULD NOT be the halftime performer!!” However, he was quickly (and rightly) shouted down by Twitter users who recognized his outburst for the cry for attention it obviously was.

Now that the performance itself is in the rearview, fans are looking forward to Rihanna’s next move — hoping for a new album or tour announcement — although she’s warned that just because she’s returned to the stage, doesn’t mean she’s automatically jumping headfirst back into the music spotlight. But we can hope!

Marjorie Taylor Greene Got An Earful About Chris Stapleton’s ‘Wokeness’ After She Slammed The Black National Anthem

The full significance of the Super Bowl opener (with Sheryl Lee Ralph’s “Lift Every Voice and Sing” rendition as well as a Navy flyover featuring an all-female pilot team) was lost upon Marjorie Taylor Greene, who wasn’t aware of country singer Chris Stapleton’s perspectives. The far-right congresswoman’s anti-woke leanings are no secret, given that she worries for the “average white male” (whatever that means). However, Greene slipped up by praising Stapleton but trashing the rest of the opener.

“Chris Stapleton just sang the most beautiful national anthem at the Super Bowl,” Greene tweeted. “But we could have gone without the rest of the wokeness.”

No one is debating Stapleton’s prowess at the mic, which even left Eagles Coach Nick Sirianni in tears. What MTG failed to recognize is that Stapleton is an outspoken supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, and his presence as part of this ensemble matters a lot. “There’s a very broad awakening that’s come about,” he declared to CBS This Morning after the murder of George Floyd in 2020. “It’s time for me to listen. It’s time for other folks to listen.” He then added, “The country that I thought we were living in was a myth.”

Greene’s tweet came back to bite her in the butt, given that she missed the above news when it happened. One user tweeted, “Chris Stapleton is ‘woke’ as f*ck,” and that was only the beginning. Others questioned why she has such a problem with an all-woman team of pilots, but no one ever said that Greene makes sense.

Oh, and here’s a lovely photoshop of George Santos and his Vince Lombardi Trophy. Enjoy the rest of the game.

Patrick Mahomes Was In Agony After Aggravating His Ankle Injury In The Second Quarter

Super Bowl LVII quickly turned into a shootout between the Chiefs and Eagles, with Philadelphia jumping out to a 21-14 lead. It certainly looked like a game where both star QBs would need to be at their best to produce a win, but optimism for a fun second half was dashed in the final two minutes of the second quarter when Patrick Mahomes got hit on his injured ankle on a scramble and struggled to limp off of the field.

FOX’s camera’s stayed on Mahomes on the sideline and showed him in agony as trainers looked at his ankle, with Chad Henne quickly warming up off to the side in case he was needed. Mahomes would stay on the sideline and not make an early exit to the locker room, which was hopefully a good sign for a potential return, but his reaction was notable, particularly to those that know him well.

The Eagles did not give the Chiefs the ball back to end the half, which means we likely won’t get an official update until after halftime, but it was an unfortunate turn of events that put a damper on what had been a very fun first half. Even if he continues playing, one would think he won’t be able to operate at 100 percent and that’s a considerable disadvantage for a Kansas City offense that is so reliant on his playmaking ability.

Ice Spice Is ‘In Ha Mood’ About A Rowdy Crowd That Forced Her To Cut Her New York Fashion Week Concert Short

Ice Spice may have aspirations around dipping her toe into acting, but it’s her fan base, the Munchkins, that are causing a scene. The Bronx native has quickly risen to the top of new-age rap conversations thanks to her viral smash “Munch,” but she is still getting used to the outpouring of admiration in public.

However, the craze reached all new heights during her concert yesterday night (February 11) for New York Fashion Week. Appearing at Tia Adeola x Bowery Showroom’s collaborative concert at the Williamsburg Hotel Ballroom, Ice Spice was forced to end her guest set earlier due to the unruly crowd pushing up onto the low stage.

As the crowd begins to inch up on the rapper, she is heard yelling, “Relax,” to the overly excited concertgoers, but it doesn’t seem to work. Spice then tries to wait for attendees to follow her advice, but her security doesn’twant to risk it, quickly ushering her off stage to a backstage area.

From another angle, you can see just how chaotic the sold-out crowd is before Spice is rushed away. After Spice is moved to a secure location, you can hear the DJ saying, “I’m not going to lie, New York City, I am very disappointed in y’all.”

Before leaving the venue, did she have the opportunity to perform a few songs from her EP Like…?, including “In Ha Mood.”

Spice raps about being the new Princess Diana, but perhaps she didn’t look into the late royal family member’s life before making the declaration.

Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce seems to be having a great game so far. The Cleveland native celebrated his touchdown over the Philadelphia Eagles during Super Bowl LVII with a classic dance move provided by the GS Boyz. Phoebe Waller-Bridge Doesn’t Do A Great Job Of Rescuing Harrison Ford In The ‘Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny’ Super Bowl Trailer

The new Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny teaser belongs… in the Super Bowl.

The latest promo for the fifth Indiana Jones movie, which premiered during the first quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles game, is full of action, adventure, and a digitally de-aged (and gloriously grumpy) Harrison Ford. Also along for the ride is John Rhys-Davies returning as loyal Sallah and Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Helena Shaw, who the Fleabag creator described as “a mystery and a wonder.” She added that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was “the fastest I’ve ever read a script; I came out of a sort of haze afterwards. I just couldn’t believe how much fun I had and how moved I was by it. And then I had a Zoom and screamed, ‘YES!’ at them all

You can watch the teaser above. Here’s the official (and vague) plot description:

Harrison Ford returns as the legendary hero archaeologist in the fifth installment of the iconic Indiana Jones franchise, which is directed by James Mangold. Starring along with Ford are Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Oliver Richters, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny opens in theaters on June 30.

Kenneth Gainwell Coming Up Inches Short Of The First Touchdown Swung A Ton Of Prop Bets

The Super Bowl is the biggest sports betting day of the year, and this year’s edition was expected to be the biggest ever with 33 states now having legal sports betting.

While plenty of folks had action on the sides (Eagles -1.5) and total (50.5/51), prop bets have become the star of the Super Bowl, as there is a robust sheet of offerings on every conceivable angle. Super Bowl or not, one of the most bet props every game are first touchdown and anytime touchdown bets, and on the first drive of the game there was some real drama that saw a lot of money change hands.

On third down from the four, Kenneth Gainwell appeared to barrel his way into the end zone for the go-ahead score, as he celebrated along with those who snagged him at +2500 to put the first TD on the board.

However, upon review from the right sideline camera, it was clear Gainwell’s elbow came down with the ball still just shy of the goal line, pulling the touchdown off of the board

As everyone watching knew immediately, that was going to lead to a Jalen Hurts QB sneak, giving his first TD (+700) and anytime TD (-115) bettors a quick win.

Those weren’t the only props that swung on the quick review, as Shortest TD Under 1.5 yards cashed (and the Over lost), Kenneth Gainwell first carry Under 3.5 yards cashed as the 4-yard TD got overturned to what was officially a 3-yard gain, and Gainwell anytime TD bettors had to wait to see if they’d get another chance at redemption.
